Automate our manual print-file production process (Shopify → print-ready .tif) — phone case manufacturer We manufacture custom phone cases to order. Every day, someone on our team manually processes each Shopify order through a repetitive workflow that eats ~2 hours/day and doesn't scale. We want this automated. Current manual process (what needs to be replaced): 1. Open each order in Shopify — note the phone model (e.g. Samsung S24 FE, iPhone 16 Pro) and the chosen design name 2. Manually locate the matching design file in our design library 3. Open Photoshop, use existing production templates to lay out 4 orders' designs onto one print sheet 4. Manually type the phone model name next to each design so production knows which case it's for 5. Export the finished 4-up sheet as a print-ready `.tif` 6. Repeat for every order, every day What we want built: An automated pipeline that: - Pulls new orders from Shopify automatically (API and/or webhook — order status "paid"/"processing") - Extracts phone model and design name from each order (via variant data or line item properties — we'll confirm exact structure with you) - Matches the design name to the correct file in our design library - Fits/places the design onto the correct template for that phone model (each model has its own dieline/dimensions) - Auto-generates the phone model label as text on the sheet (no manual typing) - Batches every 4 orders onto one print sheet, matching our current layout - Exports the finished sheet as a print-ready `.tif` at production resolution - Runs unattended — scheduled and/or triggered by new orders, no daily manual kickoff required What you bring: - Experience with the Shopify Admin API/webhooks (REST or GraphQL) — comfortable reading order/variant/line-item data reliably - Either: Photoshop scripting experience (ExtendScript/JSX or UXP), OR strong Python image-processing experience (Pillow, ImageMagick, or similar) — tell us which and show us prior work - Experience with print production concepts a plus (dielines, bleed, print resolution/DPI, CMYK vs RGB) — not mandatory but helpful - Can work from our existing templates and design file conventions without needing everything rebuilt from scratch Deliverables: - Working automated pipeline (hosted/scheduled or triggered), tested against a batch of real orders - Clear documentation for our team on how it runs, how to add new phone models/templates, and how to troubleshoot - A short handoff call/walkthrough To apply, please include: 1.
