Looking for a team lead to own the technical direction of a full stack product

About the Role We're looking for an experienced Team Lead to drive the technical direction of our full-stack platform. Our core architecture is powered by an SAT solver, and we're looking for someone who can transform sophisticated algorithmic capabilities into a scalable, production-ready product. You'll lead an engineering organization that spans two closely connected domains: Compute Team – responsible for the core algorithms, performance, and correctness of computation. Product Team – responsible for validating, applying, and presenting those results through reliable, intuitive user experiences. You'll work closely with our Algorithms Lead while owning the overall technical execution and engineering strategy for the team. Our current focus is improving the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the platform, with particular emphasis on building robust testing frameworks that ensure correctness across complex business scenarios. What You'll Do Lead the technical direction of our full-stack engineering team. Partner closely with the Algorithms Lead to bring complex computational logic into production. Design highly scalable, reliable backend systems. Build and improve testing frameworks that validate sophisticated business logic. Drive engineering best practices around system correctness, performance, and maintainability. Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence. Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and customer-facing teams to deliver high-quality solutions. About You You're an engineering leader who has built systems where correctness is critical. You understand that reliability goes beyond making software work—it means producing results that are accurate, explainable, testable, and resilient across countless edge cases. You enjoy solving difficult technical problems, debugging complex systems, and creating architectures that can evolve as products grow. You're comfortable working alongside algorithm specialists while providing technical leadership for a broader engineering team. What We're Looking For 5+ years of backend engineering experience building and operating large-scale systems. Proven experience leading complex technical initiatives as a technical lead or engineering lead. Strong understanding of designing systems that produce reliable, explainable, and deterministic outcomes. Experience building or maintaining testing frameworks for validating complex business logic. Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills, especially in systems where correctness is difficult to verify. Experience building high-performance, highly available backend services. Deep expertise with modern backend languages, frameworks, and distributed system design. Experience working with asynchronous or event-driven architectures. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, design, and customer-facing teams. Passion for mentoring engineers and promoting engineering excellence. A customer-focused mindset with genuine curiosity and craftsmanship.
