Realtime Chat with WebRTC and Django

We are looking to develop our own real-time chat feature to be integrated into our existing webapp. Our existing webapp is a LMS (Learning Management System) which serves Video on Demand courses. Within this webapp we need the real-time feature to be developed and integrated. The existing system already has a robust user authentication and authorization supported with the help of tech stack listed below The features should include: 1. Messaging - 1:1 or group chat or to a selected set of participants within the course 2. Commonly supported reactions/emoticons 3. Controls/APIs to enable/disable chat which the existing backend can use 4. We are not looking to develop our own real-time video streaming platform. We just need realtime chat feature integrated into our webapp Our tech stack as of now: Backend: Django , postgresql, rabbitmq, celery, redis Authentication and AuthZ: Keycloak IdP Frontend: Preferred in NextJs (App Router), Tailwind CSS, TypeScript, Javascript. Frontend repo is a monorepo suporting multiple webapps with turborepo Hosting: AWS ECS and EC2, Amplify and other services, Cloudfront/Bunny.net CDN Unit Testing: Jest, Vite E2E Testing: Playwright No webrtc support exists in the code as of now. Non-functional requirements 1. Source code to be provided 2. Development of the chat app should be such that it should be easy to integrate within the current LMS system or other systems webpages to be developed in future. 3. Performant and low-latency is a must as real-time chat is latency sensitive
