AppFolio Integration & Automation Developer for 300-Unit Property Management Portfolio

We are seeking an experienced developer to assess and improve the technology infrastructure supporting a growing multifamily property portfolio of approximately 300 units. AppFolio is our primary property management platform, but several operational processes still rely on manual data entry, spreadsheets, email, and disconnected tools. Our objective is to create a more scalable and efficient back-office system through better integrations, workflow automation, data synchronization, and reporting. The initial engagement will be a focused 10-hour technical and workflow assessment. The selected developer will review how AppFolio is currently being used, identify where data and tasks move manually between systems, and recommend practical technical solutions. The scope may include: Reviewing AppFolio workflows, integrations, permissions, and reporting processes Identifying repetitive tasks suitable for automation Evaluating duplicate data entry and disconnected systems Mapping data flows between AppFolio, spreadsheets, email, accounting tools, and other platforms Recommending API-based integrations, webhooks, middleware, or automation platforms where appropriate Improving internal reporting and operational dashboards Identifying technical risks, data inconsistencies, and process dependencies Developing a prioritized 30/60/90-day technical implementation roadmap The ideal candidate should have experience with: AppFolio or similar property management platforms API integrations and third-party system connectivity Workflow automation using tools such as Zapier, Make, or custom scripts Data transformation and synchronization Reporting, dashboards, and operational analytics Secure handling of property, tenant, accounting, and vendor data Designing maintainable systems for small, lean operational teams Experience working with multifamily property management operations is strongly preferred.
