I’m developing a concept called Noctua. At a high level, it is a private radio tower that acts like a “computer in the sky.” The aircraft itself would have a standardized hardware interface, and the software would manage communications, sensors, and mission-specific modules.
I’m looking for someone who can help evaluate and potentially build the software architecture. It's a part time gig so you could focus on your full time work as a priority but I want your creative genius to make this right.
The software concept would need to include:
A secure user management system:
Different user roles and permissions
Civilian users vs. public safety agencies
Authentication and authorization
Audit logs showing who accessed what and when
Emergency communications capability:
Authorized fire departments/municipalities can send public safety announcements
Broadcast authority follows incident command structures
Ability to transfer authority during large incidents
Messages are digitally authenticated and logged
A modular hardware integration layer:
The system detects connected payloads/modules
Identifies what capabilities are attached
Manages power/data communication
Allows future expansion (weather sensors, cameras, communications modules, etc.)
Network management:
Ability to use different connectivity sources:
WiFi
Cellular
Satellite
Mesh networking
Failover between communication methods
A command dashboard:
Emergency operations interface
Drone status
Sensor data
Communication controls
User permissions
I’m not asking you to build the entire system immediately. I’m looking for your opinion on:
Is this software architecture feasible?
What would the minimum viable prototype look like?
What technologies/frameworks would you recommend?
What type of development team would eventually be needed?
What would be the biggest technical challenges?
The goal is to create a secure, modular emergency response platform where the hardware is the vehicle, but the software is the intelligence layer.
