Budget: $15.0 - $50.0 HOURLY / NOT_SURE ⭐ 5.00 (1) United States

web-application, web-programming, software-debugging, react-js, node.js, git, javascript

About the product We build a B2B platform for contractors that manages the full material lifecycle: vendor quoting, purchase orders, receiving, invoicing, job costing, and warehouse operations. It's a real product with paying customers, live in production, and shipping constantly. What you'll work on Web app: A Meteor.js + React 18 application (MongoDB Atlas, Bootstrap 5, real-time pub/sub data) — building new pages and features across quoting, orders, receiving, and reporting workflows. Cloud services: Node.js / Express microservices on Google Cloud Run, driven by Pub/Sub events — background jobs, email pipelines (SendGrid), PDF generation and parsing, and vendor/EDI integrations. AI features: We use the AI APIs for document intelligence — parsing vendor quote and invoice PDFs, matching line items to catalogs, and automating data entry. You'll extend and refine these pipelines. Day-to-day work looks like Taking a feature from rough spec to production: schema, Meteor methods/publications, React UI, tests, deploy. Debugging real-world data issues (messy vendor PDFs, EDI feeds, sync edge cases). Writing and maintaining tests (Jest unit tests, Meteor method tests, e2e smoke tests) — we run tests before every deploy. Working directly with the our small team; high ownership, fast feedback from actual users. Must-have skills Strong JavaScript (ES6+) and React — most of the codebase is JS/JSX. Node.js backend experience and comfort with MongoDB (queries, aggregations, schema design). Git-based workflow and the discipline to test before deploying. Nice to have Meteor.js (or willingness to learn it quickly — it's central to our stack). Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Secret Manager). Experience with LLM APIs (prompting, structured extraction, evaluation). Familiarity with construction, distribution, or supply-chain domains is a plus but definitely not required. What we value Pragmatic engineers who ship, solve problems, think through unforeseen issues, and try build right the first time. You'll rarely be blocked by process — you'll be trusted to understand a workflow our contractors use, build it well, and get it into their hands.
