Full-Stack Web Developer — Hourly Contractor
Engagement: Hourly · Remote
About Us
We are a digital marketing agency helping businesses grow through strategic digital solutions — website design and development, SEO, paid advertising, analytics, and digital engineering. Our team is globally distributed with teams globally and across the US and Canada.
The Role
Must be available during US business hours for team/client overlap.
We’re looking for a skilled full-stack web developer to join our team as an hourly contractor. You’ll build, maintain, and improve client websites across WordPress, Webflow, and Shopify for ~15–20 active accounts. The work ranges from implementing designs from Figma, building custom page templates and functionality, troubleshooting issues, and managing staging-to-live deployments.
You should be comfortable communicating directly with clients when needed — explaining what you’re doing, walking them through changes, and translating technical concepts into plain language. Quality is non-negotiable: clean code, thorough testing, and attention to detail should be built into how you work, not something you add on at the end.
Responsibilities
WordPress Development
Build, modify, and maintain client websites using WordPress, Elementor, and custom themes
Develop with PHP, ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), and custom post types
Configure and troubleshoot plugins (Gravity Forms, Yoast/RankMath, WP Rocket, etc.)
Manage staging environments and staging-to-live deployments
Optimize site performance (Core Web Vitals, page speed, caching)
Webflow Development
Build and maintain client sites in Webflow, including CMS-driven content
Implement responsive layouts and interactions from Figma designs
Manage Webflow hosting, staging, and publishing workflows
Shopify Development
Build and customize Shopify storefronts using Liquid templating
Configure themes, apps, and product catalog structures
Troubleshoot storefront display, checkout, and integration issues
Front-End & Full-Stack
Write clean, responsive HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Implement pixel-accurate designs from Figma mockups across all breakpoints
Troubleshoot cross-browser and cross-device issues
Work with Git for version control
Client Communication
Communicate directly with clients on project updates, technical questions, and deliverables
Translate technical issues into clear, non-technical language
Record async walkthroughs (Loom) to explain changes or guide clients
Manage expectations around timelines and technical constraints
Quality & Process
Deliver thoroughly tested, production-ready work — QA your own builds before handoff
Follow established development processes and naming conventions
Keep tasks up to date in ClickUp
Coordinate with our QA team to resolve issues before go-live
Tech Stack
Must-Have: WordPress (custom themes, plugin dev) · Elementor · Webflow (site builds, CMS, interactions) · Shopify (theme dev, Liquid, app config) · PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript · ACF · Git · Responsive/mobile-first · Figma
Strong Plus: WP Engine · Gravity Forms · SEO plugins (Yoast, RankMath) · WP Rocket / performance optimization · BentoBox or similar hospitality platforms · Google Tag Manager
Tools: ClickUp · Slack · Google Workspace · Figma · Loom
