GIS Developer – Vacant Land Marketplace (AWS + PostGIS)

Job Description We are building a growing Geo AI-powered vacant land marketplace. We have already enriched over 10,000 vacant land parcels in the US with intelligent data overlays, market insights, and geospatial tools. We are close to launching. We are looking for a strong GIS Developer to help maintain, scale and optimize the core geospatial infrastructure of the platform. This is a long-term part-time contract role (starting at 5–10 hours/week) with potential for more hours based on quality of work and communication. Key Responsibilities - Design, write, and optimize complex PostGIS queries for spatial analysis, joins, clustering, and real-time features - Build and maintain scalable AWS geospatial infrastructure (RDS/PostGIS, EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.) - Architect efficient data pipelines for parcel enrichment and large-scale spatial processing - Integrate raster/vector data layers (satellite, aerial, flood zones, etc.) - Collaborate on Geo AI features and overall system architecture - Communicate status, maintain linear task assignments, be responsive and supportive when tagged in slack. Requirements - Extensive experience in AWS cloud environments - Advanced proficiency in PostGIS and PostgreSQL for complex geospatial queries - Prior systems architecture experience, ideally with geospatial systems - Strong Python skills for data processing pipelines - Experience with GDAL and geospatial data tools - Excellent problem-solving skills - Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
