About Us
We’re a purpose-driven immigration and general-practice law firm that transforms lives through exceptional legal service. Every member of our team is Devoted to our mission, Resourceful in finding solutions, Empowering in our interactions, Accountable for our commitments, and Mission-Motivated every step of the way.
If you thrive in a collaborative, values-aligned environment and love cutting-edge technology, artificial intelligence, and building automation systems that solve real-world problems, we’d love to meet you.
Role Overview
This is a high-trust, high-autonomy, one-person engineering, IT, and security function. As our Senior IT, Security & Automation Engineer, you will inherit, operate, and continuously evolve our custom, AI-augmented operations platform (LOSA Atlas) which runs the firm day-to-day.
This hybrid role is unusually broad : you must be comfortable writing production code in the morning, provisioning systems at noon, and presenting a security posture/compliance brief to firm leadership in the afternoon. You will act as equal parts software/solutions engineer, IT & security administrator, and operations project manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Core Software Engineering & AI Automation
Own & Evolve "LOSA Atlas": Maintain and extend our custom portal (WordPress/PHP frontend + ~73 Google Cloud Functions in Node.js/Firestore). Optimize its AI case tooling that leverages the Claude API to auto-draft legal documents and fill USCIS immigration forms.
Financial & Billing Automation: Oversee the custom Node.js and Python ETL reconciliation systems that cross-verify payments between CRM and payment portals to eliminate errors.
Workflow Integrations: Manage and scale advanced Asana webhooks, Calendly automated routing, and complex Google Apps Script triggers that drive the case lifecycle.
Growth/Marketing Engineering: Maintain server-side conversion pipelines tracking ad spend to signed cases via Meta Conversions API, TikTok Events API, and HubSpot workflows.
2. IT Administration & Advanced Security
Identity & Access Management (IAM): Act as the Super-Admin for Google Workspace using Admin SDK, Groups, and domain-wide delegation.
Security & Compliance: Lead the firm's security posture regarding client-data handling (aligned with ABA Formal Opinion 512 standards). Manage company secrets (GCP Secret Manager), access control, MFA, Bitwarden, and automated offboarding SOPs.
Infrastructure Monitoring: Proactively identify, audit, and patch vulnerabilities across our entire SaaS and cloud vendor stack.
3. Tech Project Management & Leadership Reporting
Run engineering and systems infrastructure work as tracked projects within our PMO (Asana).
Conduct weekly/biweekly technical, compliance, and security briefings directly with the Principal.
Translate highly complex engineering architectures into clear business insights for non-technical stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves
Bilingual: Professional fluency in English & Spanish (the firm operates daily in both languages).
Leadership & Ownership Skills: Proven experience leading technical projects, managing software vendor stacks, or acting as a Tech Lead/Manager. Ability to define technical direction and execute a vision independently.
Experience: 3–5+ years of proven experience building, shipping, and operating production software, ideally solo or within high-velocity small teams.
Backend Mastery: Strong proficiency in Node.js and Python. Comfort with HTML/CSS/JS and basic PHP/WordPress.
Cloud Infrastructure (GCP): Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, specifically Cloud Functions/Run, Firestore, Secret Manager, Cloud Scheduler, Pub/Sub, and IAM.
API Fluency: Deep understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth/JWT, and signature verification across third-party networks.
Security Mindset: Absolute commitment to secret hygiene, least privilege architecture, and responsible management of highly sensitive PII.
Communication: Exceptional communication skills to mentor non-technical teammates and brief leadership on technical architectures, security risks, and ROI of automations.
Highly Preferred (Nice-to-Haves)
Experience with AI/LLM integrations (Anthropic/Claude API, prompt engineering, and document parsing workflows).
Background in legal, fintech, regulated, or high-privacy environments (Immigration law tech is a massive plus).
Deep familiarity with tools like Asana, HubSpot, Twilio, Slack, and advertising APIs.
