Junior ML Engineer – AI SaaS for Materials Science & Electronic Device Innovation

Job Description: DeviceAlchemy.ai is an early-stage AI startup based in California, United States. We are developing an intelligent platform that helps researchers and engineers with scientific reasoning and discover promising material stacks for next-generation electronics. We are seeking a motivated Junior ML Engineer to join our team as a part-time Independent Contractor. Key Responsibilities: • Optimize and maintain the RAG pipeline and model inference performance. • Enhance backend systems built with Python and Flask. • Identify and fix bugs, and implement new features • Support integration and fine-tuning of LLMs. • Perform occasional frontend maintenance (HTML/CSS/JS) Commitment: 10–15 hours per week Budget: $200 – $250 per month Type: Independent Contractor (1099) Location: Fully Remote Duration: Initial 4-week paid trial period, with strong potential for ongoing long-term collaboration. Requirements: • Undergraduate degree (or final-year student) with knowledge in Electronics, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or related fields. • Strong proficiency in Python. • High interest in research and development. • Ability to think critically and solve problems independently. • Good written and verbal English communication skills. • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
