Long-Term WordPress, Hosting & Google Ads Assistant for Digital Agency About LaMarka Digital LaMarka Digital is a small digital agency based in the Netherlands. For the past 10–15 years, I have personally managed website and application projects for Dutch clients, often working with freelancers through Upwork. The agency currently manages approximately 30 WordPress websites hosted on our server. Because I also have other professional responsibilities, I no longer have enough time and capacity to manage every technical and operational task myself. I am therefore looking for a reliable and experienced individual who can support me in the background and help keep the agency organised, stable and operational. This is not a full-time position, and I am not looking to outsource the work to another agency. I am looking for one dependable person who can become a long-term operational partner and act as my technical “shadow.” Responsibilities Your responsibilities may include: WordPress Management * Performing WordPress core, theme and plugin updates * Monitoring website functionality after updates * Managing website backups * Troubleshooting WordPress, PHP and database issues * Monitoring outdated PHP versions and coordinating upgrades * Installing and configuring new WordPress websites * Managing users, plugins, themes and general website settings * Resolving minor technical issues and website errors Hosting and Domain Management * Managing approximately 30 websites on our hosting environment * Monitoring hosting performance and website availability * Managing domain registrations and renewals * Monitoring hosting and service contract renewal dates * Managing FTP, database and hosting-panel access * Creating new hosting environments when required * Ensuring websites, domains and hosting services remain active and secure Google Ads Management * Monitoring active Google Ads campaigns * Managing campaign budgets * Making basic campaign adjustments and optimisations * Identifying unusual spending, performance drops or technical issues * Providing clear updates and recommendations when action is required Agency Support * Maintaining an overview of all websites, domains, hosting services and renewal dates * Creating and following standard operating procedures * Proactively identifying risks, outdated systems or required maintenance * Keeping me informed without requiring constant supervision * Supporting occasional new website or client projects Who I Am Looking For The ideal candidate: * Is an experienced WordPress administrator or developer * Understands hosting environments, FTP, databases, DNS and PHP * Has practical experience with Google Ads campaign management * Is organised and capable of managing multiple websites * Communicates clearly and proactively * Can work independently * Is trustworthy and comfortable handling access to client websites and hosting accounts * Is interested in a stable, long-term working relationship * Is an individual freelancer, not an agency You do not need to be the world’s leading expert in every area, but you should have enough technical knowledge to independently manage routine operations and recognise when a specialist is required. Workload and Payment This is not expected to be a full-time or daily position. The initial onboarding period may require more time because you will need to become familiar with the websites, hosting environment, accounts and current procedures. After onboarding, the work should mainly consist of routine monitoring, maintenance and occasional support requests. My initial idea is to work with a monthly retainer of approximately $100 per month. However, I am open to discussing a suitable structure based on the agreed responsibilities, expected workload and your experience. Larger projects or tasks outside the regular maintenance scope can be discussed and paid for separately. Long-Term Opportunity I have managed most of these activities myself for many years. However, doing everything alone has made it difficult to maintain a complete overview and scale the agency. I am looking for someone who can bring structure, continuity and reliability to the operation.
