phone, tablet, android-app-development, android, react-native, figma, tailwind-css-framework, animation, lottie

Why This Is Critical The kids app uses react-native-reanimated, lottie-react-native, and rive-react-native. Making a child-facing product feel magical requires someone who can create fluid, delightful animations and pixel-perfect UI that a 6-year-old loves. The Zumi character animations, teaching flow transitions, quiz interactions - all need craft. What You'll Own - Design and implement smooth animations using Reanimated 3, Lottie, and Rive - Build the Zumi character's on-screen presence: idle, talking, celebrating, thinking states - Create the teaching flow UI: speech bubbles, quiz cards, progress indicators, reward animations - Make the app feel premium - microinteractions, haptics, transitions, gesture-based navigation - Work closely with the AI engineer to bring Zumi's responses to life visually Must-Have Skills - Strong React Native skills (functional components, hooks, navigation) - Hands-on with react-native-reanimated (shared values, worklets, layout animations) - Eye for design - you notice when padding is 2px off - Can implement from Figma OR design directly in code when there's no design - Understanding of child-friendly UX: big touch targets, simple flows, visual feedback Good to Have - Experience with Lottie or Rive animations - Familiar with NativeWind / Tailwind for RN- Have built a product targeting kids or casual users - Can create simple illustrations or motion graphics - Basic Figma skills Mindset You see the current quiz screen and think "this is boring for a kid" - then you prototype a version with confetti, character reactions, and a bouncy score reveal, without waiting for a designer to spec it.
