Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js, TypeScript, LangChain/LangGraph) — Long-Term, Full-Time Remote

We're a Saudi Arabia–based company looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a long-term project (full-time, remote). You'll design scalable backend systems and build AI-powered agentic workflows, own architecture and code quality, collaborate with product, and mentor other developers. Scope of work Ownership & Collaboration - Own architecture and code quality across backend systems -Work with product owners to translate business requirements into development plans -Play a key role in design sprints and stakeholder alignment -Mentor junior developers and support onboarding for new team members -Improve the SDLC: testing strategies, CI/CD, and performance monitoring -Build internal tools and automate repetitive tasks to boost efficiency Backend Engineering -Design and maintain scalable systems for high-traffic apps (performance + reliability) -Write clean, reusable code in Node.js / TypeScript (Express, NestJS) -Build RESTful and GraphQL APIs and real-time features with WebSockets -Architect microservices and event-driven systems AI & Automation -Build AI agentic architectures with LangChain / LangGraph -Integrate the OpenAI API and other LLMs -Prompt engineering, tool/function integration, and orchestration -Build AI-powered workflows and automation Required skills -5+ years with Node.js and TypeScript in production -Proven track record with scalable, high-traffic backend systems -RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, microservices, event-driven architecture -LangChain / LangGraph, the OpenAI API, and prompt engineering -Experience mentoring other developers -Strong communication with product owners and stakeholders Engagement -Full-time (40 hrs/week), long-term -100% remote — company based in Saudi Arabia (KSA) -Overlap required with Saudi business hours (Arabia Standard Time, UTC+3); work week Sunday–Thursday To apply, please include: - A short intro covering your backend and AI experience - Links to code samples / GitHub / projects (Node.js and any LangChain/LangGraph or LLM agent work) - Examples of complex projects you've delivered - Your availability and hourly / monthly rate
