Senior iOS Automation Engineer (Appium / WebDriverAgent)

We are looking for an experienced iOS Automation Engineer to build a reliable automation framework for a fleet of physical iPhone devices used for internal operational workflows. Project Overview The project involves approximately 10–20 physical iPhones connected to a Mac mini. The goal is to build a scalable automation framework capable of executing predefined workflows on mobile devices with centralized configuration and scheduling. This is a long-term project with multiple development phases. Required Experience * Strong experience with iOS automation * Appium and/or WebDriverAgent * XCTest * Managing multiple physical iOS devices * macOS development environment * Python, Node.js, or similar backend technologies * Experience building stable automation systems rather than simple scripts Initial Scope Build a framework capable of: * Controlling multiple physical iPhones simultaneously * Reading configuration from Google Sheets * Downloading media assets from Google Drive * Executing configurable UI workflows * Scheduling automated tasks throughout the day * Supporting multiple user profiles on each device * Centralized logging and status reporting * Retry and error-handling mechanisms * Human-like timing with configurable delays and randomized execution windows * Extensible architecture for future workflow additions Infrastructure * 10–20 physical iPhone SE devices * Mac mini host * Google Sheets for configuration * Google Drive for media storage Nice to Have * Experience scaling automation across many devices * Strong understanding of iOS UI synchronization and stability * Experience improving automation reliability over long-running sessions * Clean software architecture and documentation Please include: * Similar automation projects you’ve built * Technologies you would recommend and why * Your proposed architecture for a scalable multi-device automation system * Estimated timeline for an MVP This is intended to become a long-term collaboration, so we’re looking for someone who values clean architecture, maintainability, and reliability over quick hacks.
