Project: Wiqayah Smart Health Ring Prototype
Objective:
Develop a wearable smart ring for continuous real-time health monitoring and early health-risk detection.
Hardware Requirements:
* Ring form factor suitable for daily wear
* Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
* Rechargeable battery
* Minimum battery life: 24 hours
* Water-resistant design preferred
Sensors:
* Heart Rate (HR)
* Blood Oxygen Saturation (SpO₂)
* Skin Temperature
* 3-axis Accelerometer for activity and motion tracking
Software Requirements:
* Real-time BLE data streaming
* Android support
* iOS support
* SDK or API for third-party integration
* Access to raw sensor data
* Documentation for BLE characteristics and communication protocol
Data Requirements:
* Heart rate updates every 1–5 seconds
* SpO₂ updates in near real time
* Temperature updates periodically
* Motion/activity data streaming
Integration:
The ring will connect to a custom mobile application called Wiqayah.
The mobile application will:
* Display live vital signs
* Calculate NEWS2 score
* Run machine learning models (XGBoost and future time-series models)
* Generate early warning alerts for potential health deterioration

* BLE communication implementation

* One working prototype for testing and research purposes
