We are looking for a developer to build a simple points tracking system using messaging bots and Google Sheets.
Project Overview
We need a system that allows authorized users to award and deduct points through a messaging bot, while automatically updating balances in Google Sheets.
The system will use:
* One shared Google Sheet
* Two messaging bots connected to the same sheet
* Automated balance calculations
* Transaction history tracking
* Access control for different user groups
Bot #1
Can only deduct points.
Bot #2
Can both award and deduct points.
Main Requirements
* Create and configure two bots.
* Connect both bots to a single Google Sheet.
* Automatically record all transactions.
* Automatically calculate current balances.
* Maintain a complete transaction history.
* Prevent accidental duplicate transactions.
* Allow users to view current balances.
* Allow users to view recent transactions.
* Set up access permissions for authorized users.
The input format can be either:
* Free-text messages processed with AI, or
* A structured command format if it simplifies development and improves reliability.
We are open to the developer’s recommendation.
Preferred Skills
* Bot development
* Google Sheets API
* Make.com, n8n, Zapier, or similar automation platforms
* Python, Node.js, or similar technologies
* Experience building workflow automation systems

5. Examples of similar automation projects you have built.
We are looking for someone who can recommend the simplest, most reliable solution rather than over-engineering the project.
