Three.js Developer/Team — Real-Time Multiplayer 3D Social Platform (Proof of Similar Work Required)

Budget: $10000.0 FIXED / ⭐ 4.13 (9) Malta

three-js, webgl, node.js, websockets, javascript

⚠️ IMPORTANT — READ BEFORE APPLYING: I will only consider freelancers/agencies who have built something genuinely similar before: a real-time multiplayer 3D web experience where multiple users are visible and synced live in the same shared space (not a single-user 3D configurator, not a Unity/Unreal export, not a generic "we can do anything" pitch). If you apply, please include a link to a live, playable demo of that specific type of work — not just a video or a portfolio piece that "relates." Generic cover letters and unrelated portfolio links will be ignored. We're building an immersive, browser-based 3D social experience using Three.js — a persistent 3D space where users walk around as avatars, interact with each other in real time, and sit down at interactive tables together. This is a prototype phase to validate the core experience before scaling up. Scope for this milestone: A 3D map/space users can walk around in first or third person Basic avatar system (movement, simple animations — idle, walk, sit) Real-time multiplayer: multiple users visible and moving in the same space simultaneously (WebSocket or similar — Colyseus experience is a plus) One interactive table/activity fully implemented in 3D: users can approach, sit/stand, and interact with a shared interface, with server-authoritative state (not client-decided outcomes) Basic point/token system using demo values only Simple text chat between nearby users What I need to see in your proposal: A live, playable link demonstrating real-time multiplayer 3D web work you (or your team) actually built Which specific part you/your team built, if this was a team effort A realistic architecture proposal (client/server split, multiplayer approach) Nice to have: Experience with WebRTC for voice chat Experience with Colyseus, Photon, or similar multiplayer frameworks This is phase 1 of a larger project. The budget reflects room for a candidate who can prove real, relevant experience — and there's strong potential for ongoing work if this phase goes well. Only serious, verifiable applications will get a response.
