**Title: TypeScript/Node Engineer for Windows Local Printing Bridge** We operate a browser-based ERP and are looking for an engineer to build a small Windows application that allows our web app to print PDFs directly to a selected local printer without showing the browser print dialog. Our frontend is React and TypeScript. Our backend is Django. The PDFs are already generated at the correct dimensions, so this project does not require PDF layout or document-generation work. **Initial MVP** * Build a Windows-only local bridge using TypeScript and Node.js * Expose a secure localhost API or WebSocket connection * Detect and return installed Windows printers * Accept a PDF print job from our web application * Silently print the PDF to a selected printer * Save printer mappings for different document types * Provide basic connection status and error reporting * Package the bridge into a simple Windows installer * Help deploy and test it with one customer Electron may be used, but we are open to a lightweight Node service or tray application if that is more appropriate. **Relevant experience** Please apply only if you have previously built at least one of the following: * A Windows desktop or tray application * Silent printing or Windows printer integration * An Electron or Node.js application using native OS functionality * A localhost bridge between a browser and local hardware **Please answer** 1. Describe a Windows printing or hardware-integration project you have built. 2. How would you print a PDF silently to a specifically selected printer? 3. Would you use Electron, a Node service or another architecture, and why? 4. How would you prevent an unrelated website from sending commands to the local bridge? 5. What would you include in a one-week technical proof of concept? Please include links, screenshots or code samples from relevant past work where possible.
