I'm looking for an experienced senior full stack engineer who enjoys working with founders and acting as a technical thought partner, not just completing development tickets.
A little about me: I'm a former Google Product Manager with a strong technical background. I've been building my startup, Sommplicity, myself using Next.js, Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, GitHub, and AI coding tools like Claude Code and Codex. The application has progressed much further than I expected, and I continue to build most features independently.
Where I need help is with the deeper engineering challenges. I'm looking for someone who can review architecture, solve difficult bugs, recommend best practices, identify technical debt before it becomes a problem, and help ensure the product is production ready.
This is not a project where I hand off a list of tasks. I'm looking for someone I can collaborate with over time as a trusted technical advisor.
Current areas where I'd like support include:
Architecture reviews and technical guidance
Debugging complex issues
Production readiness and launch planning
Code reviews and best practices
Performance and scalability improvements
Security and authentication reviews
Database and API design
GitHub workflow and deployment guidance
Technical planning and prioritization
Looking ahead, one of my biggest priorities is expanding Sommplicity into a mobile application. Experience with React Native and Expo is a significant plus because I'd like to make architectural decisions today that support both web and mobile.
Our current stack includes:
Next.js
React
TypeScript
Supabase
PostgreSQL
Vercel
Stripe
GitHub
AI assisted development using Claude Code and Codex
The ideal person is someone who:
Has shipped multiple production web applications
Has experience with modern React and Next.js
Understands scalable software architecture
Is comfortable reviewing and improving AI generated code
Can explain technical concepts clearly
Enjoys mentoring and collaborating with technical founders
Has React Native or Expo experience (preferred)
This will likely begin as 5 to 10 hours per week with the opportunity for a longer term relationship if we're a good fit.
When you apply, I'd love to hear:
A little about your background and the types of products you've built.
Whether you've worked with AI assisted development workflows.
Your experience with React Native or Expo.
Why this type of advisory role interests you.
More than anything, I'm looking for someone whose judgment I can trust. I'd much rather work with an experienced engineer who helps me make better technical decisions than someone who simply writes code.
