Full Stack Developer (Backend Heavy) — 6-Month Contract (Remote) **Location:** Remote (Must work M–F, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST) **Duration:** 6 months (fixed-term contract, potential to convert based on performance and business need) **Reports To:** Project Manager **Employment Type:** Full-time contractor— dedicated, full professional attention required (see note below) **About Pandesco** Pandesco is a boutique Managed Service Provider (MSP) and SaaS technology creator headquartered in Austin, Texas, delivering innovative IT and cloud solutions to specialty, luxury retail, and consumer products clients. We build proprietary software and deliver managed services that help our clients modernize, operate efficiently, and grow. **The Role** We're looking for a Full Stack Developer with heavy backend experience to join our product team on a 6-month contract. Your primary focus will be building and extending services and APIs on our C# ASP.NET Core / .NET 8 stack — data models, business logic, integrations, and performance — working closely with our Director of Technical Delivery. You'll also be expected to pick up front end work in React and TypeScript when backend demand is lighter, so we need someone genuinely full stack, not a backend specialist who's dabbled in front end. **Our AI Philosophy** Pandesco is an AI-forward company — operationally, not aspirationally. We believe AI makes smart people more efficient: it increases velocity, automates the routine, and frees engineers to solve harder problems. We also believe it makes undisciplined people less effective. We hire for the former. Every role at Pandesco is expected to use AI tools actively and intelligently. Resistance to AI-assisted workflows is an explicit non-fit. Reliance on AI as a substitute for talent and due diligence is also a non-fit. **Key Responsibilities** *Backend Development (Primary Focus)* - Design, build, and maintain services and APIs in C# ASP.NET Core / .NET 8 and GraphQL. - Work with Azure Container Apps, Dapr, KEDA, and Azure Service Bus for service integration, scaling, and messaging. - Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code that holds up under real production load and data. - Contribute to data modeling, business logic, and API contract design across our SaaS products. *Frontend & Full Stack Work (As Needed)* - Contribute to React 19 / TypeScript front end components when reassigned across projects. - Translate Figma designs into functional UI when front end capacity is needed. - Work within existing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) without owning pipeline configuration. *Architecture & Platform* - Support integration work across Azure API Management, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure OpenAI / Azure AI Foundry where relevant to the product. - Help maintain and evolve backend patterns and conventions — API design, error handling, logging, and observability. - Use Key Vault integration as standard practice on all backend work. *Workflow & Collaboration* - Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and sprints via Azure DevOps — pull requests, work item tracking, and pipelines. - Collaborate with in-office and remote team members throughout the week, including daily communication in English. - Use AI-assisted development tools (including Claude Code) as part of daily workflow to increase velocity without sacrificing craft. **Required Qualifications** - 2–4+ years of hands-on professional experience with C# and ASP.NET Core / .NET. - Strong understanding of API design, data modeling, and backend architecture patterns. - Working professional experience with at least one modern front end framework (React strongly preferred; will consider strong analogous experience). - Proven experience building and maintaining production backend services. - Solid Git and version control workflow experience. - Experience with Azure DevOps — pull requests, work item tracking, and pipelines. - **Excellent English fluency, written and spoken, required. Must be stated explicitly on CV/resume.** - AI-forward mindset: demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools in real projects. - Reliable remote work setup and discipline to work core hours M–F, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST. **Preferred Qualifications** - Direct experience with Azure Container Apps, Dapr, KEDA, and Azure Service Bus. - Experience with GraphQL API design and implementation. - Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or Azure API Management. - Hands-on experience integrating AI services (Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Anthropic Claude, or similar) into applications. - Working fluency with Claude Code or similar AI-assisted development tools. - Experience with React and TypeScript sufficient to contribute front end work when needed. - Familiarity with Bicep for infrastructure-as-code (Terraform not used; ARM acceptable as legacy knowledge). **Who You Are** - A builder who thinks in systems and data flow, but is equally comfortable dropping into front end work when a project needs it. - Rigorous about API design and willing to push back when something won't scale or hold up in production. - Comfortable working independently in a remote setting while staying tightly coordinated with the team. A Note on Exclusivity This is a full-time engagement, not a side project or one of several concurrent client commitments. We expect this role to have the applicant's full professional attention during working hours. Applicants intending to juggle multiple clients or competing contracts simultaneously should not apply. If we determine an engaged contractor is splitting attention across other paid work during Pandesco hours, the contract will be terminated immediately. **What You'll Get** - Real-world experience on live SaaS products used by clients across the US. - Direct collaboration with the Director of Technical Delivery. - Exposure to a modern C# / .NET / Azure / React / TypeScript stack and AI-assisted development practices. - Potential for extension or conversion based on performance and business need.
