# AI Engineer / AI Agent Developer Required – Company-Wide AI Implementation We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer / AI Agent Developer to work with us on a long-term basis to help implement AI across multiple departments of our business. This is not a request for one simple chatbot or a one-off automation project. We are looking for someone who can help us identify, design, build and implement practical AI agents and automation tools across the company. Our business operates in the education interiors, design, fit-out, fitted furniture, washroom, manufacturing and project delivery sector. We manage enquiries, quotations, design, estimating, procurement, project management, manufacturing, installation, finance, documentation and client communication. We want to explore how AI can improve efficiency, reduce manual admin, improve accuracy, speed up processes, support decision-making and help our team work more effectively. ## Overall Requirement We are looking for an AI engineer who can help us: * Review our current workflows and identify where AI can add value. * Build AI agents for different departments. * Connect AI tools with our existing systems and future ERP workflows. * Automate repetitive admin and document-based tasks. * Help structure our company data so AI can use it properly. * Build proof-of-concepts and then turn successful ideas into working tools. * Advise us on the best AI architecture, tools, platforms and integrations. * Help create a long-term AI implementation roadmap for the business. ## Departments / Areas We Want to Explore We would like to implement AI across areas such as: ### Sales & CRM * AI agents to review enquiries. * Help qualify opportunities. * Draft follow-up emails. * Analyse pipeline data. * Identify project types and client requirements. * Support proposal preparation. * Help with client and project research. * Support sales methodology and stage-based follow-up. ### Estimating & Quotations * AI-assisted take-offs from drawings, schedules and documents. * Matching products to our costing library. * Helping prepare quotation structures. * Identifying missing information. * Comparing estimated costs against actual project costs. * Supporting margin analysis. * Helping identify whether the quotation has been built correctly. * Supporting cost-centre level estimating and reporting. ### Design Department – Example AI Agent Requirement One of the key AI agents we would like to explore is a **Design Layout Agent**. The aim of this agent would be to support our design team by creating early-stage room layouts, concepts and plans before a designer spends time producing final detailed drawings. We currently work on school and commercial interior projects, including laboratories, food technology rooms, classrooms, washrooms, fitted furniture, teaching walls and other education spaces. The agent would ideally be able to work with information such as: * DWG files. * DXF files. * Revit files or Revit families. * 3D models of furniture, fitted units or products. * Point cloud scans from a site scanner. * Existing room layouts. * Historical completed project layouts. * Product libraries. * Furniture and equipment standards. * Internal design rules. * Capacity requirements. The agent would need to help interpret the room, understand constraints, and propose layout options. For example, it may need to: * Take a point cloud scan and create a basic room envelope. * Read or interpret a DWG / CAD plan. * Identify walls, doors, windows, services and fixed building constraints. * Place furniture, fitted units, cupboards, worktops, sinks, appliances or specialist equipment. * Understand different layout styles. * Learn from previous projects. * Generate initial concept plans. * Produce more than one layout option. * Apply rules based on room type and required capacity. * Highlight where a layout may not meet the required capacity or design logic. For school spaces, the agent would need to understand capacity and practical design logic. For example, if designing a school laboratory for 30 pupils, the agent would need to understand: * How much space each student requires. * How many chairs are needed. * How many workstations are needed. * How much worktop space is required. * How many students can share a sink. * How many students can share a gas tap. * How much storage is needed. * Where the teacher demonstration area should be. * Circulation and safety considerations. * Access routes and clearances. For a food technology room, the agent would need to understand: * Number of students. * Number of students per sink. * Number of students per oven. * Number of students per hob. * Worktop requirements. * Appliance spacing. * Storage requirements. * Teacher demonstration area. * Circulation and supervision logic. For washrooms, the agent could eventually help with: * Cubicle layouts. * IPS layouts. * Vanity unit positioning. * Circulation. * Door swings. * Privacy considerations. * Capacity requirements. * Standard product placement. We currently use Revit, so experience with any of the following would be highly valuable: * Revit API. * Dynamo. * BIM automation. * Revit family automation. * CAD-to-Revit workflows. * Point cloud-to-Revit workflows. * IFC workflows. * AI-assisted layout generation. * Generative design. * Spatial planning automation. If full Revit integration is not practical as the first stage, we would still be interested in a solution that can generate early-stage 2D or 3D concepts outside Revit, which our design team can then review and develop into final technical drawings. The purpose of this agent is not necessarily to fully replace the designer. The goal is to reduce the time spent on early layout options, improve consistency, help apply our internal design rules, and speed up the process of producing client concept plans. ### Project Management * AI agents to support project documentation. * Review project information and highlight risks. * Track actions, RFIs, approvals and missing information. * Support client communication. * Help summarise project status. * Assist with project handover documents and O&M manuals. * Help maintain a clear project communication history. * Support client portal or project workspace workflows. ### Procurement * AI support for supplier comparisons. * Purchase order checking. * Identifying cost changes. * Comparing estimated costs, procured costs and final delivered costs. * Highlighting margin slippage by cost centre. * Helping identify where buying has improved or reduced project margin. * Supporting supplier and product comparison. ### Manufacturing / Operations * AI support for production planning. * Linking design, estimating and manufacturing data. * Reviewing product libraries and standard components. * Helping identify repeatable product opportunities. * Supporting workflow automation between departments. * Helping turn repeated project items into standardised products. * Supporting manufacturing data, BOMs and production information. ### Finance / Reporting * AI-assisted project performance analysis. * Comparing original estimated cost, pre-construction/procurement cost and final delivered actual cost. * Identifying where margin has improved or slipped. * Creating management summaries and exception reports. * Helping improve visibility across live projects. * Supporting cost-centre level reporting. * Helping identify trends across completed projects. ## Systems & Data We are also implementing / exploring ERP workflows, so experience integrating AI with business systems would be highly valuable. Relevant areas may include: * Odoo or similar ERP systems. * CRM systems. * Document management. * Microsoft 365 / SharePoint / OneDrive. * Excel-based workflows. * SQL databases. * Revit / CAD / BIM systems. * Cloud-based AI tools. * APIs and automation platforms. * Client portals or project workspaces. ## Skills We Are Looking For The ideal person will have experience in some or all of the following: * AI agent development. * LLM application development. * Workflow automation. * API integrations. * Python. * Vector databases / RAG systems. * Document processing. * OCR and data extraction. * CAD / BIM / Revit automation. * Point cloud processing. * Business process automation. * ERP / CRM integrations. * Data structuring and knowledge-base creation. * AI strategy and implementation planning. * Spatial layout generation. * Generative design. * Construction, manufacturing or project-based workflow automation. ## What We Need From You We need someone who can work with us strategically and practically. The first stage would likely involve: 1. Understanding our business and departmental workflows. 2. Identifying the best AI use cases. 3. Prioritising quick wins and longer-term projects. 4. Recommending the right technical architecture. 5. Reviewing what data and systems we already have available. 6. Building one or more proof-of-concept AI agents. 7. Creating a roadmap for wider AI implementation. 8. Supporting us in turning prototypes into usable business tools. ## Example First Project One possible first project is the Design Layout Agent described above, where the system helps generate early-stage room layouts from DWG files, Revit models, point cloud scans, existing unit libraries and design rules.
