Always-On Agentic AI Developer

Looking for a developer to help create an always-on agentic AI market intelligence system. The system will continuously monitor defined companies, industries, topics and public information sources; identify meaningful events and changes; evaluate their relevance; organize the findings; and notify users when actionable opportunities emerge. This is not a chatbot or basic AI content-generation project. The system must operate independently on scheduled and event-driven workflows, use multiple tools and data sources, maintain context, make decisions based on defined rules, and escalate important findings to a person. Responsibilities • Build always-on AI agents that continuously monitor defined markets and information sources. • Enable agents to research, evaluate and connect information across multiple sources. • Develop configurable rules for identifying relevant signals, events and opportunities. • Create scoring logic that determines which findings require attention. • Maintain historical context so the system can recognize meaningful changes over time. • Generate concise intelligence reports, alerts and recommended next actions. • Ensure every finding includes traceable source information. • Create human-review controls before the system takes sensitive or external actions. • Build a simple interface for configuring monitoring criteria and reviewing results. • Implement scheduling, background processing, error handling, logging and system monitoring. • Create reusable architecture that can be configured for different companies and markets. • Document the system so it can be maintained and expanded. Required Experience • Strong Python or JavaScript/TypeScript development experience. • Experience building agentic AI systems that run continuously without requiring individual prompts. • Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic or similar AI platforms. • Experience with tool calling, multi-step workflows and persistent agent memory. • Experience collecting and processing information from APIs and approved public sources. • Experience with databases, scheduled jobs, queues and cloud deployment. • Ability to build reliable production systems—not just prototypes, chatbots or prompt-based demonstrations. Initial Project Develop a working proof of concept that can: • Continuously monitor a defined market or group of companies. • Detect selected events, changes and emerging signals. • Compare new information with historical information. • Determine relevance using configurable criteria. • Rank findings by importance or opportunity. • Generate a concise intelligence summary. • Cite the source behind every finding. • Alert a user when meaningful activity is detected. • Continue operating automatically without daily prompting. This will begin as a project-based or fractional engagement, with the potential for continued development as the platform expands. Candidates should provide examples of always-on agents or autonomous monitoring systems they have personally built, the technologies used, their specific role, availability and hourly rate.
