WordPress Directory Site — CPT, ACF Pro, SAMHSA API & Google Places Integration

We are building a scalable WordPress-based addiction treatment directory at AddictionRehab.com. The site currently runs on WordPress with ACF Pro and needs a complete backend architecture rebuild to support thousands of listings across every city, state, and country globally. Our medical director is a board-certified addiction psychiatrist who reviews and scores listings clinically. This is a serious, well-funded project with a clear spec and a staging environment already set up. We are looking for one experienced developer to own this build end to end. What we need built: -Custom Post Type (CPT) for rehab facility listings with 50+ ACF Pro fields covering clinical data, operational policies, insurance, amenities, and lifestyle factors (smoking policy, phone blackout periods, pet policy, family visitation, treatment philosophy, dietary options, costs, insurance accepted, AMA policy, activities, accreditations, staff credentials, levels of care, treatment modalities) -Geographic taxonomy system at Country, State/Province, County, and City levels that automatically generates archive/directory pages at every level from a single template -SAMHSA API integration to bulk import all licensed US treatment facilities as listing stubs -Google Places API integration that auto-populates and periodically refreshes ratings, reviews, photos, hours, and coordinates using a stored Place ID per listing -WP All Import Pro pipeline for ongoing bulk listing management via CSV -FacetWP or SearchWP faceted filtering on archive pages by insurance, level of care, amenities, smoking policy, gender served, and other ACF fields -Single listing page template that renders all ACF field data cleanly for end users -Full schema markup on every listing page covering MedicalBusiness, GeoCoordinates, PostalAddress, and OpeningHoursSpecification, mapped to ACF fields via Rank Math Pro -Redis object caching configuration -Admin workflow optimized for managing listings at scale — adding a new listing should take under 2 minutes Current state: -WordPress staging environment already set up -ACF Pro licensed and installed -CPT structure partially defined -Rank Math Pro installed -Cloudflare configured You must have demonstrated experience with: -WordPress CPT and ACF Pro architecture at scale -External API integrations including REST APIs and Google Places API -Directory or listing sites with thousands of records -FacetWP or SearchWP -Geographic and location-based query optimization in WordPress -Schema markup implementation How we work: We will structure payment via Upwork milestones tied to delivered phases. We communicate clearly, respond quickly, and have a well-defined spec ready to share on first call. We are not looking for the cheapest option — we are looking for the right person who has done this before.
