WordPress Developer — Monthly Retainer for Medical Aesthetics Practice (Schema, SEO, Maintenance)

We are a boutique medical aesthetics and wellness practice in Lenexa, Kansas (veteran-owned, APRN-led), and we're hiring a vetted WordPress developer on a monthly retainer to take over technical ownership of our website and serve as our reliable technical hands going forward. About us: ÉLEVÉ Regenerative Aesthetics & Wellbeing — elevekc.com. Our site is currently live on WordPress but needs cleanup, schema markup, new service pages, and ongoing maintenance. We are transitioning away from our previous developer and looking for a long-term partner. ENGAGEMENT TYPE • Larger projects scoped separately • Long-term relationship — we are not looking to churn vendors • 30-day trial period, either side can walk with no penalty WHAT YOU WILL DO • Take ownership of WordPress maintenance: plugin updates, security patches, backups, uptime • Implement LocalBusiness and MedicalBusiness schema (JSON-LD) per provided specifications • Build new service pages for individual treatments (Botox, Daxxify, Dysport, Jeuveau, etc.) • Clean up the existing site (currently 71 pages, many need to be consolidated, redirected, or removed) • Audit and configure plugins (Rank Math or Yoast, security, caching) • Implement FAQ schema as we publish FAQ content • Page speed and Core Web Vitals optimization • Set up and use a staging environment for all changes • Monthly site backup delivered to our Google Drive REQUIRED SKILLS • 3+ years building and maintaining WordPress sites • Strong understanding of structured data (JSON-LD, Schema.org), especially LocalBusiness and MedicalBusiness types • Comfortable with custom themes, child themes, and PHP when needed • Rank Math or Yoast SEO configuration experience • Comfortable working in staging environments • Excellent written English • Healthcare, medical, or HIPAA-adjacent website experience is a plus OUR EXPECTATIONS (DEAL-BREAKERS) • Response within 1 business day to messages; 4 hours for urgent issues during business hours • All changes go through staging — never edit the live site directly • Every change documented in a shared change log • Admin credentials remain in our name; you receive your own account that can be revoked • Full site backup delivered to us monthly • Clean handoff if either side ends the engagement — minimum 2 weeks notice, no holding the site hostage • Weekly written status update (Monday) — what shipped, what's next, hours used WHAT WE WILL NOT PROMISE We will not pressure you to guarantee #1 Google rankings or specific traffic numbers. Your job is to ship clean, fast, well-structured code and keep the site healthy. Marketing results are a partnership. PAID TRIAL BEFORE RETAINER To start, we'll commission a paid 5–8 hour audit and proposal: • Review current WordPress install, theme, and plugins • Audit existing schema and propose JSON-LD for LocalBusiness + MedicalBusiness • Identify top 5 technical SEO issues and recommend fixes • One-page written report Compensation for trial: $400–$600 fixed.
