Senior Python Developer for Options Trading

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Python developer to take long-term ownership of an existing live options-trading system. The system: Trades NIFTY and SENSEX options through Zerodha Kite Is written in Python and controlled through an Excel configuration sheet Runs on AWS in a live production environment Has grown to approximately 5,000 lines of code Key responsibilities: Understand and document the existing system Refactor the code into a streamlined, modular and maintainable structure without changing the approved trading logic Improve performance, testing, logging, monitoring and error handling Provide responsive production support during Indian market hours Investigate order, broker API, Excel, AWS and connectivity issues Implement approved change requests and strategy enhancements Maintain Git-based version control and proper release documentation Mandatory experience: Advanced Python development and legacy-code refactoring Live algorithmic or automated options-trading systems NIFTY options and Zerodha Kite Connect SPY and QQQ options trading Options selling, hedging, order management, partial fills, position reconciliation and risk controls AWS, Excel integration, Git, testing and production debugging Availability during Indian market hours Use of ChatGPT, Claude or similar AI tools is acceptable, provided you personally understand, review and take responsibility for all delivered code. Engagement: We expect an initial paid code-review and refactoring phase, followed by a long-term monthly retainer covering production support and agreed development hours.
