Graph & Database Engineer

About the role We're looking for a graph/database engineer to join an existing team and provide support and continuity on our knowledge graph. The system is the single source of truth for all data across our platform and is currently owned by one engineer. This hire works alongside that engineer - not as a replacement. What you'll work on - Graph database work - data modelling, ontology design, ledger management - Access control policies - encoding role-based data access across different user types (SHACL) - Triple structure and querying - how facts are stored, traced back to sources, and queried (RDF, SPARQL) - Cross-regional query architecture - federated query design across multiple geographic instances - Supporting a React-based web app's data-layer integrations Skillset - Some experience with graph data (ontologies, schema) and graph queries (RDF, SPARQL, JSON-LD, SHACL) - this should be your stronger area - Some experience with AI models, in prototyping or production, is an advantage - multimodal LLMs, computer vision, or working with audio/image/unstructured data - Python essential; Rust, TypeScript and React useful - Comfortable owning infrastructure that's still evolving rather than a fixed, documented system About you Keen to work closely with a fast-moving team across multiple projects, with the opportunity to develop skills and experience with state-of-the-art techniques applied to real-world use cases.
