Full-Stack Developer – Private Rental & OTA Platform (Airbnb-like)

We deliver reliable, scalable, and delightful user experiences by integrating with diverse partner ecosystems and building highly performant, user-centric interfaces. We are seeking a hands-on Full-Stack Developer to lead and accelerate our private car rental and property rental (Airbnb-like) capabilities, including listings, availability, pricing, reservations, payments, and host/guest interactions. Role Overview As a Full-Stack Developer focused on private car rental and property rental, you will design, implement, and maintain end-to-end features that enable hosts to list properties and vehicles, guests to discover and book them, and operators to manage inventory, pricing, and bookings. You will work across the stack—from backend microservices and data pipelines to frontend experiences and partner integrations—collaborating with Product, Partnerships, and Platform teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end booking mechanisms for private car rentals and property listings (search, availability, pricing, bookings, payments, checkout, and post-booking activities). Build and maintain backend services (APIs/microservices) to manage inventory, pricing rules, calendar sync, location-based searches, reviews, messaging, and host/guest communications. Implement secure authentication and authorization (OAuth, JWT, API keys) and robust role-based access control for hosts, guests, and admin users. Normalize and aggregate data from internal catalogs and third-party inventory sources; implement caching, data deduplication, and data quality checks. Develop front-end features to support listing creation, calendar management, reviews, messaging, booking flows, and responsive UI/UX for hosts and guests (React, Vue, or Angular). Integrate with payment gateways, Tax/VAT handling, payout workflows for hosts, and compliance with applicable financial regulations. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (privacy, data security, antifraud measures) and implement security best practices. Write clean, well-documented code and maintain comprehensive unit/integration tests; implement end-to-end tests for critical user journeys. Instrument observability (metrics, traces, dashboards) and implement monitoring, alerts, and incident response for rental-related flows. Collaborate with Product and Partnerships to define acceptance criteria, success metrics, and roadmaps for rental marketplace capabilities. Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices; proactively plan migrations or adjustments as external APIs or platforms evolve. Contribute to DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud deployments (AWS/GCP/Azure). Required Qualifications 3+ years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Developer or similar role. Hands-on experience building or integrating within private car rental and/or property rental marketplaces (Airbnb-like) or analogous marketplace platforms. Strong backend experience (Node.js/Express, Python/Django/Flask, Ruby on Rails, Java/Spring, or equivalent) and API design (REST/GraphQL). Frontend experience with modern frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) and state management. Experience with databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB), ORM/ODM, and data modeling for listings, reservations, pricing, and reviews. Familiarity with authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0, JWT) and security best practices. Knowledge of search and filtering algorithms, calendaring, pricing strategies, and availability management. Experience with payments, refunds, payouts, and related compliance (PCI-DSS awareness is a plus). Proficiency with caching, messaging queues (RabbitMQ/Kafka), and asynchronous processing. Experience with containerization and cloud deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure). Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working with cross-functional teams and external partners. Nice-to-Haves Prior experience with travel tech platforms, OTA systems, or other marketplace platforms (rides, accommodations, experiences). Knowledge of property management systems (PMS), channel managers, or calendar integrations (iCal, Booking Sync). Experience with search services (Elasticsearch/Opensearch) and geospatial queries. Familiarity with API gateways, event-driven architectures, and microservices orchestration. Experience with contract testing (PACT), API performance testing, and load testing. Knowledge of localization, currency handling, and regional pricing rules.
