Freelance Full-Stack Developer – Flutter, React.js & Node.js

Beauty Spot is a live beauty discovery and booking platform available on iOS and Android. The app connects clients with independent beauty service providers and includes provider profiles, service listings, availability management, bookings, deposits and payouts, subscriptions, notifications, reviews and personal booking links. We’re looking for a reliable, proactive and experienced full-stack developer to take over the ongoing development and maintenance of the platform as we transition away from our current developer. This is not a one-off project. We need someone who can resolve bugs quickly, maintain the stability of the live platform, and help us develop and launch new features as Beauty Spot grows. Our current technology stack Flutter mobile app for iOS and Android React.js admin panel and web-based personal booking links Node.js backend and APIs MySQL database AWS backend hosting and deployment GitHub repositories Stripe Connect for booking deposits and service provider payouts Apple and Google Play in-app subscriptions Brevo for transactional emails, SMS notifications and automated reminders App analytics and advertising SDK integrations Key responsibilities Complete an initial review of the existing codebase, infrastructure and deployment processes Work with our current developer to complete a structured technical handover Investigate and resolve bugs across the Flutter app, React.js web interfaces, Node.js backend, APIs, MySQL database and admin panel Diagnose the root cause of issues and implement stable, long-term fixes Develop, test and launch new features across iOS, Android and the web-based parts of the platform Manage app releases and updates through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store Maintain and troubleshoot bookings, provider availability, deposits, payouts, subscriptions, notifications and personal booking links Maintain integrations including Stripe Connect, Apple and Google subscriptions, Brevo email and SMS services, and analytics SDKs Manage safe deployments through AWS and maintain the reliability of the production environment Monitor the live platform for technical issues and respond quickly when urgent problems arise Test changes thoroughly across both iOS and Android before release Ensure new changes do not negatively affect existing functionality Provide realistic time and cost estimates before starting work Communicate progress clearly and flag blockers or delays promptly Maintain clear technical and deployment documentation Proactively recommend improvements to the platform’s stability, security, performance and development processes Essential experience Strong commercial experience developing and maintaining Flutter applications Strong experience with React.js, Node.js and MySQL Experience working across mobile, web and backend systems Experience taking over and understanding an existing live codebase Experience with AWS hosting, troubleshooting and production deployment Experience using GitHub and following structured version-control processes Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills Experience managing iOS and Android app releases Experience with subscription-based apps and validating Apple and Google in-app purchases Experience working with APIs, third-party integrations and transactional notification systems Ability to test and deploy changes safely within a live production environment Experience with Stripe Connect or another marketplace payment system would be strongly preferred. We need someone who: Is proactive and able to troubleshoot independently Responds promptly when an urgent live issue is reported Takes ownership of work from investigation through to deployment Communicates technical issues in clear, understandable language Provides regular progress updates without needing to be chased Flags blockers or delays as soon as they arise Tests work properly before presenting it as complete Suggests appropriate long-term improvements rather than relying on temporary fixes Is honest and realistic about timelines, costs and technical limitations Is available to begin as soon as possible Working arrangement This is an ongoing freelance position covering urgent bug fixes, platform maintenance and planned feature development. The workload may vary depending on our current priorities. We are open to discussing either a monthly allocation of development hours or an ongoing ad hoc arrangement with agreed response times for urgent issues. For each task, we expect: Confirmation that the request has been received An initial assessment of the issue or feature A clear estimate of the cost and delivery time Regular progress updates Appropriate testing before deployment Confirmation once the work has been successfully released The engagement will begin with a structured handover and technical review covering the GitHub repositories, AWS environment, MySQL database, APIs, admin panel, third-party integrations, app-store accounts and deployment processes.
