WordPress Website & Integration Support — Health Education Nonprofit

**JOB DESCRIPTION** Our nonprofit organization, based in San Francisco, California, provides science-based, unbiased health information to help the public make informed healthcare decisions. Our primary outreach platform is a WordPress website built on the Salient theme. We are seeking a skilled and reliable WordPress support professional or agency for long-term, as-needed support. The ideal candidate is fluent in English, top-rated on Upwork, and experienced supporting mission-driven organizations. Beyond technical skill, we need someone who is genuinely responsive and can communicate clearly. **SCOPE OF WORK** **1. Ongoing Maintenance & Technical Oversight** - Keep WordPress core, plugins, and themes updated and compatible with current PHP versions - Monitor and troubleshoot performance, uptime, and security issues - Advise proactively on website health, flagging emerging issues before they become problems **2. Third-Party Tool Integration & Maintenance** This is a core part of the role. Our website works in concert with several external platforms, and we need a partner who can ensure these connections remain functional and correctly configured: - **Mailchimp**: subscription forms, audience segmentation, and automation workflows - **Google Analytics**: maintaining our tracking implementation, adding or updating event tracking, and diagnosing integration issues as they arise - **Google Ads**: ensuring proper integration with our website, including conversion tracking - **Other tools and APIs**: implementing or troubleshooting connections between third-party services and our website on an as-needed basis **3. Gravity Forms Support** - Configure and maintain Gravity Forms for data collection, user submissions, and form-based workflows - Troubleshoot form behavior, conditional logic, and integrations with connected tools **4. Plugin Management** - Recommend, install, and configure plugins to enhance functionality without compromising performance or security - Advise on alternatives when existing tools become outdated or incompatible **5. Custom Development & Debugging** - Handle tasks requiring advanced coding (PHP, JavaScript, CSS) on an occasional basis - Debug complex issues and develop custom solutions as needed **REQUIREMENTS** - Extensive experience with WordPress, including the Salient theme - Proven experience with Gravity Forms configuration and troubleshooting - Experience with Google Analytics (GA4), including event tracking and integration maintenance - Experience with Mailchimp audience segmentation and automation workflows - Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and general WordPress debugging - Strong written English communication skills; ability to explain technical matters to non-technical colleagues - Reliable responsiveness — we need a partner who is reachable and follows through consistently **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** - Experience supporting nonprofit or mission-driven organizations - A proactive communication style — raising issues before they escalate - Familiarity with Google Ads conversion tracking and website integration - Basic familiarity with SEO best practices is a plus **WHAT WE OFFER** This is a long-term opportunity to support an organization with a meaningful public health mission.
