ML / AI Engineer

About the role We need an ML engineer to take ownership of a cloud-based AI pipeline currently running in production with no backup. The previous engineer is departing. The pipeline covers OCR, document extraction, voice ID, translation, and transcription - all deployed as REST APIs. This is an urgent hire. What you'll work on - Cloud OCR pipeline - classifying uploaded images (invoices, logbooks, weighing scales, licence plates), extracting structured data, and returning results to mobile and web clients - Transaction verification - matching multiple image types into coherent transaction records - Voice ID / speaker verification - enrolment and probing API - Translation and transcription pipelines - server-side audio transcription and multilingual translation - Image classification - routing uploaded images to the correct processing pipeline - API maintenance and deployment - all of the above run as live REST APIs Skillset - Some experience with AI models, in both prototyping and production - this should be your stronger area. Multimodal LLMs, computer vision, and working with audio, image and unstructured data is an advantage - Some experience with graph data (ontologies, schema) and graph queries (RDF, SPARQL, JSON-LD, SHACL) is a plus, not required - Python essential; Rust, TypeScript and React useful - Comfortable inheriting and owning an existing production codebase About you Keen to work closely with a fast-moving team across multiple projects, with the opportunity to develop skills and experience with state-of-the-art techniques applied to real-world use cases.
