WordPress Full-Stack Developer — Long-Term, Full-Time (Multiple Sites) Looking for an ongoing partner, not a one-off gig. I run a portfolio of content websites (starting with a cricket content platform) and I'm building a reusable, template-driven architecture across all of them. I need one strong full-stack WordPress developer as my go-to engineer — full-time, responsive, long-term. Do great work and this becomes steady, continuous work across multiple sites. What you'll build A layered, reusable template system covering 8 content sections — built ONCE as a parameterized template, not 8 separate pages. This "build once, reuse everywhere" approach carries across every future site, so I need a systems thinker. Core work: -Parameterized, reusable archive templates in Elementor Pro Theme Builder -Custom Elementor widgets (PHP widget classes) with data queried and rendered in the render method -Registering CPTs and taxonomies with correct rewrite rules so sub-hub URLs nest under their parent CPT path (e.g. /predictions/ipl/) -Data binding with WP Query plus ACF for no-code editor fields (WYSIWYG, Relationship, term-level) -Fully dynamic internal links via get_term_link, get_permalink, get_post_type_archive_link — ZERO hardcoded URLs in templates (hard rule) -Technical SEO via Rank Math: breadcrumbs and JSON-LD schema -Pagination via Elementor Display Conditions -301 redirect migrations, sitemap, GSC Must-haves -3+ years PHP / WordPress core (CPTs, taxonomies, WP Query, hooks, template hierarchy) -Strong Elementor Pro — Theme Builder and custom widget registration (required, not a bonus) -Hands-on ACF -Solid HTML / CSS / JS — responsive, single-URL, works with JS disabled -Technical SEO: canonicals, pagination SEO, JSON-LD, crawlable internal links -Performance to hit Core Web Vitals (LCP under 2.5s, INP under 200ms, CLS under 0.1) Nice to have -Rank Math specifically (we use it, not Yoast) -Large content-site / hub-and-spoke architecture -WP-CLI, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console How we work -Working hours 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST, 7 effective hours/day, Monday to Friday. Prompt, reliable communication is the top requirement after technical skill. Occasional urgent out-of-hours tasks get paid overtime or time off in lieu. -Follow the spec, no silent deviations — ask before changing. -Maintainability first: single source of truth, editors self-serve, no fragile hardcoding. -I'm treating this first project as a trial for a long-term, multi-site relationship. To apply — include all four -Paste a real code snippet you wrote (the render method or a meaningful chunk of a custom Elementor widget from an actual project — not a tutorial, not AI boilerplate). A GitHub or Gist link is fine. -One sentence: how does it avoid hardcoded internal URLs, and why does that matter when editors create and rename pages themselves? -A time it went wrong: a real project where hardcoded URLs (or a missing dynamic link function) caused a problem — what broke, the impact, how you fixed it. -Confirm you work in IST and are available 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST on weekdays. State your weekly availability (hours/week). Next step: shortlisted candidates do a short PAID micro-task (1–2 hours, e.g. register a CPT and write a minimal widget that queries it) plus a quick call where you walk me through your own code. I'm not testing whether you can find the right answer — I'm checking you can explain code you actually wrote. Generic or AI-pasted proposals won't pass this stage.
