Next.js Developer with Headless CMS Experience (Sanity Preferred) We are looking for an experienced freelance/fractional developer to support an existing Next.js website with a headless CMS backend. The ideal candidate has strong production experience with Next.js and React, along with hands-on experience using Sanity CMS (preferred), Contentful, or another modern headless CMS. This is an ongoing part-time engagement focused on maintaining and improving an existing website, developing new pages and reusable components, supporting post-launch improvements, and collaborating with our team during US Eastern Time business hours. Responsibilities - Build and maintain pages, components, templates, and site features using Next.js - Work with a headless CMS such as Sanity or Contentful - Improve reusable page sections, content models, and editor workflows - Implement rich text / Portable Text rendering with custom components - Support post-launch QA, bug fixes, and content updates - Help with SEO improvements, metadata, redirects, and validation - Support caching, preview, publishing, and deployment workflows - Create and update campaign pages when needed Required Skills - Strong React and Next.js experience (App Router preferred) - Production experience with Sanity CMS (preferred), Contentful, or another headless CMS - TypeScript - Experience building reusable components and page templates - Familiarity with structured content models, CMS APIs, queries, references, and rich text rendering - Understanding of SEO best practices for production websites - Strong written communication and ability to work independently Nice to Have - Sanity schemas, GROQ, Portable Text, and Studio customization - Vercel deployments - Webhook-based revalidation / ISR - Experience supporting post-launch website maintenance - Experience building marketing or campaign landing pages Please include with your proposal - A live production Next.js + Headless CMS project you personally worked on. - Which CMS you used and what you personally implemented. - A GitHub repository, code sample, or screenshots (if available). - A brief summary of your experience with Sanity CMS, Contentful, or similar platforms. - Your hourly rate, weekly availability, and ET overlap.
