Job Title: Google Merchant Center Product Feed Developer (Custom Feed from XML Sitemap) Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Google Merchant Center developer to create a custom product feed for a bespoke eCommerce website. Our CMS does not generate a Google Merchant feed, so we need an external solution that automatically creates and maintains one. Project Scope The website contains all product URLs in an XML sitemap. We need a solution that: Reads product URLs from the XML sitemap. Crawls each product page. Extracts all required Google Merchant Center attributes. Generates a valid Google Merchant feed (XML, CSV, Google Sheets, or another suitable format). Automatically refreshes the feed on a schedule (daily or more frequently if appropriate). Can be connected to Google Merchant Center. We're open to the best technical approach, whether that's: Google Sheets + Apps Script Python PHP Node.js Cloud Functions Another reliable solution Required Attributes The feed should include as many Merchant Center attributes as possible, including: ID / SKU Product title Description Product URL Main image Additional images (if available) Price Sale price (if applicable) Availability Brand GTIN MPN Google Product Category (where possible) Product Type Condition Shipping information (if available) Any other recommended Google Merchant attributes Nice to Have If possible, we'd also like the ability to: Override or optimise product titles specifically for Google Shopping. Create custom labels (Custom Label 0–4). Add custom rules or transformations. Log products with missing GTINs or other validation issues. Deliverables Fully automated product feed. Clear documentation explaining how it works. Easy to maintain. Compatible with Google Merchant Center. Source code included.
