Project Overview:
We are launching a high-margin B2B infrastructure platform that rents physical Android motherboard slots to businesses for cellular automation. Our cloud-based customer portal and database are already built (hosted on Lovable/Supabase).
We need a skilled backend systems developer to build a local Hardware Orchestration Script (written in Python or Node.js). This script will run on an on-premise local server connected via USB/Network to an industrial "phone farm box" chassis containing 20 separate Android motherboards. The script’s job is to listen to our Supabase database in real-time, detect when a new client has uploaded a carrier eSIM QR code, and completely automate the provisioning, proxy routing, and activation of that eSIM onto an available motherboard slot using ADB (Android Debug Bridge).
Key Technical Deliverables:
Phase 1: Database Listener: Connect to Supabase and listen via Realtime/polling for any slot record transitioning to status = 'provisioning'. Download the user's uploaded eSIM QR code image file from our Supabase Storage bucket.
Phase 2: Local Proxy Routing & Tower Management: Map hardware slots by their permanent ADB Serial IDs. Programmatically assign a unique static residential/mobile proxy to the targeted motherboard via ADB shell commands to isolate data traffic. Support a function to pass AT or shell commands to lock cellular modems onto distinct carrier frequency bands (to prevent cell tower collisions).
Phase 3: Automated eSIM Flash (The Core Engine): Push the QR code image into the designated motherboard’s storage via ADB, fire the native Android intent to launch the mobile network subscription wizard, and automate the screen interactions to pull, scan, and register the eSIM profile (supporting US carriers like Tello, US Mobile, and MobileX). Verify active cellular network signal.
Phase 4: Gateway App Deployment: Programmatically install an SMS gateway APK (TextLink or InfiniReach), launch it via ADB, inject the client’s custom API token fetched from the database, and execute a callback to Supabase updating the slot status to active along with the assigned phone number.
Phase 5: Heartbeat Monitoring & Failover: Run a background routine every 15 minutes to ping the motherboards via ADB. If a board drops offline or loses its cellular radio registration, automatically update that slot's status in Supabase to network_error to trigger our customer alert pipeline.
Required Experience & Technical Stack:
* Deep expertise with ADB (Android Debug Bridge) automation, shell scripting, and Android UI profiling (UI Automator, input tap orchestration, or Appium).
* Strong proficiency in Python (highly preferred) or Node.js.
* Experience configuring network settings (Proxies, Wi-Fi tables, routing tables) inside Linux environments and Android OS layers.
* Solid experience working with Supabase or PostgreSQL (Realtime listeners, database clients).
* Experience with physical phone farms, hardware testing arrays, or industrial modems is a massive plus.
Project Type & Milestone Framework:
This is a fixed-price project with a budget range of $1,200 - $2,500 depending on expertise. Payment will be released strictly across three milestones upon visual verification:
Milestone 1 (25%): Supabase Listener setup & local script successfully downloading the target QR codes.
Milestone 2 (50%): Complete ADB automated eSIM flashing, proxy routing, and network connectivity validation.
Milestone 3 (25%): Gateway APK installation, token injection, and final data sync callback to Supabase.
