Joomla CMS Site Update Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Joomla developer to update and maintain an existing Joomla CMS website while following industry best practices and ensuring compatibility across all plugins, extensions, and site functionality. The current website is running Joomla 3.10 and requires migration to Joomla 4.4.14. The selected developer will be responsible for evaluating all installed active plugins, extensions, and customizations to ensure a successful upgrade path. Any extensions that cannot be upgraded or made compatible should be identified, and suitable replacement solutions should be proposed. In addition to the Joomla upgrade, the developer will review the current PHP environment and recommend and implement an appropriate PHP version upgrade after Joomla compatibility has been verified. The project also includes resolving several existing page formatting and display issues that have been identified within the site. Responsibilities include: Performing a complete backup of the website files and database before any updates are initiated. Evaluating all installed plugins, modules, components, templates, and extensions for Joomla 4 compatibility. Migrating the website from Joomla 3.10 to Joomla 4.4.14. Troubleshooting and resolving extension and compatibility issues. Recommending and implementing alternative solutions for unsupported or obsolete extensions. Updating and validating the PHP environment following the Joomla upgrade. Correcting existing page formatting and display issues. Testing all site functionality after upgrades are completed. Providing documentation of changes made and any recommendations for future maintenance. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with Joomla migrations, extension compatibility analysis, PHP upgrades, troubleshooting, and website backup and recovery procedures. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing and validation are essential.
