PHP / Laravel Dev - [Fast Moving Startup]

We are looking for some super star developers specialized in both Custom PHP and Laravel development. The successful candidate will be able to build features quickly in a monolithic architecture, while keeping in mind the roadmap to allow extensibility. We are a very fast moving startup and speed is king here, we keep things as simple as possible so you will see patterns that move us in this direction, for example we use sever-side rendered blades with light js libraries instead of full blown frontend frameworks like react, we choose monolithic architecture vs microservices, we are more interested in shipping features and moving the project to our goals faster and require the candidate to fit this culture. Responsibilities • Build and maintain patient-facing web applications in PHP and Laravel, including landing pages, quiz flows, checkout experiences, and patient dashboards • Maintain attribution system across multiple services for tracking and conversions • Rapidly spin up A/B test variants across the conversion funnel to support ongoing experimentation • Integrate directly with third-party APIs including Stripe, telehealth platforms, and communication tools • Design and manage database schemas, migrations, and queries in MySQL or PostgreSQL • Develop admin panels and internal tooling to support operations, fulfillment, and customer service teams • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to translate growth ideas into working features quickly Qualifications • 5+ years of professional experience writing PHP, with solid Core PHP fundamentals • Strong hands-on Laravel experience or similar framework (Symfony experience is okay) • Proficiency with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization • Experience building and consuming REST APIs • Self-directed with strong communication skills. You flag blockers early, ask good questions, and ship without hand-holding Additional Assets • Direct Stripe API integration or subscription billing experience • Experience with A/B testing or experimentation platforms • Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced scaling environment • Working with server rendered blade systems instead of full react front-end Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (2-week paid trial with conversion to full-time)
