Senior Full-Stack E-Commerce Architect (Shopify Plus & WooCommerce)

We are architecting a high-performance, flagship e-commerce ecosystem that spans both Shopify Plus and a custom-built WooCommerce/WordPress platform. Our product line features highly complex, interdependent variations that cause standard platform configurations to break. We are looking for a Senior Architect who doesn't just "install plugins" or "use themes." We need an elite engineer capable of bridging the gap between the two platforms, ensuring both the Shopify storefront and the custom WooCommerce backend handle high-volume, multi-variant logic without performance degradation. You will own the technical strategy for our hybrid stack. You will be responsible for pushing both platforms beyond their "out-of-the-box" limitations to create a seamless, enterprise-grade purchasing experience. WooCommerce Engine: Architecting complex product logic using PHP/Custom Frameworks. You will write custom hooks, filters, and API endpoints to override core WooCommerce behavior, ensuring the backend handles deep database queries and complex calculations at scale. Shopify Plus Mastery: Leveraging Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Functions, and the Storefront API to build custom product builders and bespoke checkout experiences that mirror our WooCommerce backend logic. Cross-Platform Synchronization: Ensuring real-time data integrity between our custom WooCommerce backend and our Shopify storefront, specifically regarding inventory, complex pricing rules, and SKU-level configuration. Performance Engineering: Maintaining sub-second load times across both platforms despite handling massive, interdependent product variants. Language-Agnostic Mastery: You are as fluent in PHP (and modern frameworks like Laravel/Symfony) as you are in Liquid, JavaScript, and TypeScript. Architecture Over Apps: You treat every plugin or app as a potential point of failure. If an off-the-shelf solution can't handle the complexity, you code a lightweight, custom alternative from scratch. Data-Driven: You understand database normalization in MySQL and can translate that into performant Shopify Metafield/Metaobject architecture. WordPress/WooCommerce: Expert knowledge of hooks, filters, custom template overrides, and database optimization. Proven experience with Shopify CLI, Checkout Extensibility, and custom UI extensions. Full-Stack Integration: Deep experience with REST/GraphQL APIs for syncing data between disparate systems. Rigorous Git-based version control and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
