WordPress PHP/JavaScript Developer (Junior–Mid Level)

Company: Confidential (early-stage SaaS startup) Location: Remote — Armenia only Type: Independent Contractor, Full-Time Hours Pay: $15.00/hour Hours: 40 hours/week Time Zone Overlap: Some availability during U.S. Pacific Time business hours preferred About Us We're an early-stage SaaS company building a commercial real estate platform — currently a WordPress-based office space and property listing site serving agents, developers, and tenants across California. We're growing the platform and need a reliable developer to help build, customize, and maintain it as we scale. Company name and site URL will be shared with candidates who move forward in the process. What You'll Do Customize and extend our WordPress site (built on a real estate/property listing theme) Write and maintain PHP code for custom functionality, plugins, and theme modifications Build interactive front-end features using JavaScript/jQuery Integrate and troubleshoot WordPress plugins (forms, listings, search/filter, CRM features) Optimize site performance, fix bugs, and ensure cross-browser compatibility Work with MySQL databases for custom queries and data structures Collaborate directly with the founder on new features as the platform evolves Maintain clean, documented, version-controlled code (Git) Requirements 1–4 years of professional experience with WordPress development Strong PHP skills (custom plugin/theme development, not just page-builder use) Solid JavaScript/jQuery skills Experience with MySQL/database queries Familiarity with real estate or property-listing WordPress themes (WP Residence, WP Estate, or similar) is a strong plus Experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations Comfortable using Git for version control English language proficiency required — both written and spoken, for daily communication (Slack/email) and occasional video calls Self-motivated — able to work independently with minimal supervision Nice to Have Experience with CRM or lead-management plugin integrations Experience with map-based search/filter functionality Basic understanding of SEO best practices for WordPress sites How to Apply Please send: A brief introduction and your relevant WordPress/PHP/JS experience 2–3 examples of WordPress sites you've built or significantly customized Your availability (start date and weekly hour commitment) We're looking to fill this role quickly as we move into our next development phase.
