AI Automation Engineer

Remote | Part-Time | Long-Term | Contract-to-Hire PrimECS is a U.S.-based engineering, surveying, and construction company looking for an experienced AI Automation Engineer to build our internal AI-powered operating system. Your mission is simple: Use AI and automation to eliminate repetitive work, improve decision-making, and make every employee more productive. This is not an IT support role. Responsibilities • Build AI-powered business workflows and automations • Integrate Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, QuickBooks, ClickUp, and other systems • Develop AI assistants for proposals, finance, operations, and project management • Build dashboards and reporting tools • Automate repetitive administrative and engineering workflows • Document and improve business processes • Train staff on AI tools and best practices Required Skills • ChatGPT/OpenAI API, Claude, Gemini • Python • Make.com, n8n, Zapier, or Power Automate • APIs and system integrations • SQL or databases • Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace • Excellent problem-solving skills Experience supporting engineering, construction, consulting, or project-based businesses is a plus. Success Measures • Automate at least 15 recurring workflows within six months • Reduce reporting and administrative work by at least 50% • Build a searchable AI knowledge base • Demonstrate measurable time savings across the company
