WooCommerce Developer
Location-Aware Multi-Store Liquor Application | \ drinxdelivered.com
JOB TITLE
WooCommerce Developer — Location-Aware Multi-Store Liquor App
The Project
Drinx Advisory (drinxadvisory.com) is a retail ecommerce advisory firm that manages online sales and delivery
operations for 18 licensed liquor retail locations in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut (and growing).
We are building a proprietary ecommerce application, owned and operated entirely by Drinx Advisory, to replace
the third-party platform we currently depend on.
The application is drinxdelivered.com, a single platform that houses all 18 store locations inside it. Think Drizly
or DoorDash: one front door, location-aware inventory. A user opens the app, their location is detected, they
confirm their nearest store, and that store’s live inventory loads. No separate store websites. No subdomains. One
seamless application.
This is not a plugin configuration job. We are building something we will own, maintain, and scale. We are looking
for a developer who has built this kind of system before and can do it again, on time and on budget.
What You Will Build
• A single WooCommerce application with geolocation-based store routing and session-scoped inventory —
the Drizly/DoorDash model
• A REST API sync service connecting to a shared NCR Counterpoint POS database, routing live inventory per
store location using Counterpoint’s LocId system
• A staff-facing Location Admin Panel so Drinx Advisory can add new store locations after launch without
developer involvement
• Per-location features within the single app: age verification, delivery/pickup scheduling, Stripe checkout, and
dynamic branding
• A Progressive Web App (PWA) installable on iOS and Android
• Built-in customer-facing customizations per location: newsletter signup, loyalty programs, and promotional
banner management
Note: Drinx Advisory has in-house NCR Counterpoint expertise and will provide full technical support on the POS
integration throughout the project. Prior Counterpoint experience is not required.
Hard Requirements
• WooCommerce custom development including plugins, hooks, session management, and custom REST API
endpoints
• Geolocation-based routing and session-scoped store context management in PHP/WordPress
• Experience connecting a POS or ERP system to WooCommerce via REST API
• Age-restricted ecommerce experience (alcohol, tobacco, or equivalent)
• Git version control: all code committed to a client-owned GitHub repository
• Microsoft SQL Server familiarity: the POS database runs on MSSQL; comfort reading and interfacing with
SQL Server is required
Nice to Have
• Drizly- or DoorDash-style single-app location-aware architecture experience
• Delivery scheduling integrations (Tyche, Onfleet, or similar)
• PWA or Capacitor wrapper experience
• Prior work in licensed alcohol or age-restricted retail ecommerce
Contract Structure
Fixed-price, milestone-based. 6 milestones from staging through go-live. One milestone funded at a time. All
communication via Upwork Messages. Client owns all hosting accounts and the GitHub repository.
To Apply — Required Screening Question
Your proposal will not be reviewed without a specific answer to the following:
“Describe how you would build a single WooCommerce application that detects a user’s location, matches
it to one of 18 store locations, and serves that store’s live inventory — all within one app, without routing
users to separate store websites. How would you manage the per-store session context, and how would
you ensure inventory displayed is always scoped to the correct store location?”
We are looking for answers that demonstrate WooCommerce session management, geolocation routing
architecture, and single-app multi-location thinking. Counterpoint-specific knowledge is not expected at this stage
— Drinx Advisory will provide full technical guidance on the POS integration.
Also Include in Your Proposal
1. A link to a live WooCommerce project involving location-aware routing, session management, or
multi-location inventory
2. A brief description of a project where you connected an external system to WooCommerce via REST API
3. Your availability and earliest start date
Shortlisted candidates will receive a full project scope brief and be invited to a paid discovery task before the main
contract is awarded.
