Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Laravel Developer who is comfortable working in an AI-assisted development environment and can take ownership of projects from requirements gathering through deployment. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who understands modern software architecture, writes high-quality code, and knows how to leverage AI tools to improve productivity while maintaining engineering standards. **Freelancers only. No agencies.** ## Responsibilities * Develop, maintain, and enhance production Laravel applications. * Translate detailed specifications into scalable, maintainable solutions. * Build and maintain RESTful APIs, background jobs, queues, and event-driven services. * Design and implement agentic workflows powered by modern AI tools. * Develop and integrate MCP servers, tool connections, and automation pipelines. * Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and schema improvements. * Review, test, and validate AI-generated code before deployment. * Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver business value. * Troubleshoot production issues and implement reliable long-term solutions. ## Required Skills ### Laravel / PHP * 5+ years of professional Laravel and PHP development. * Strong understanding of Eloquent ORM, migrations, service architecture, queues, and scheduled jobs. * Experience building scalable APIs and distributed systems. * Familiarity with PHPUnit or Pest testing frameworks. ### Databases * Advanced MySQL experience. * Strong understanding of query optimization and indexing strategies. * Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases. ### AI-Assisted Development * Practical experience using Claude Code, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI coding tools. * Understanding of AI agent workflows, MCP architecture, and tool integrations. * Ability to evaluate AI-generated code and ensure production quality. * Experience selecting appropriate AI models for different engineering tasks. ### Engineering Ownership * Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. * Ability to work independently and manage projects end-to-end. * Excellent written and verbal communication. * Comfortable researching requirements and proactively gathering missing context. ## Nice to Have * AWS experience (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3). * Docker and containerized deployments. * Frontend experience with Vue.js, TypeScript, or React. * Laravel ecosystem tools such as Livewire, Filament, Inertia.js, Horizon, and Octane. * Experience building AI-powered SaaS products. * Knowledge of real estate, proptech, fintech, or marketplace platforms. ## What We're Looking For We value engineers who think critically, communicate clearly, and use AI as a force multiplier rather than a shortcut.
