Head of Development — WordPress/WooCommerce (Claude Code, AI-assisted) — Luxury Jewelry Ecommerce

We run velur.de, a fast-growing luxury lab-grown diamond & jewelry store (Germany/EU). It's a heavily customized WordPress + WooCommerce build with ~20 bespoke plugins, and we're looking for a Head of Development to own it end-to-end. Stack: WordPress + WooCommerce · custom Elementor-based theme · ~20 custom PHP/JS plugins (diamond-API integrations, configurators, members area, invoicing, feeds) · CheckoutWC + Mollie · Cloudflare Pro (+ Zaraz) · WP Rocket · SiteGround · Git + GitHub Actions auto-deploy · tracking via Zaraz/GA4/Meta/Klaviyo/Triple Whale. What you'll do — proactively, not just on request: Build & ship new features, custom plugins, and design changes Keep custom plugins, dependencies & the stack updated and secure Own performance, conversion tracking/attribution, and code quality Drive the technical roadmap for the site Proactive FIND issues and improvements with claude code (prefered) to improve the CR on the page and page speed. Must-haves: You work with Claude Code (or equivalent AI-assisted dev) and modern tooling to ship faster — this is central, not a nice-to-have Senior WordPress + WooCommerce + PHP/JS skills — real custom plugin & theme development, not just config Disciplined Git / staging→production workflow; Cloudflare & performance know-how Proactive ownership — you spot and fix things before we ask Nice-to-have: Cloudflare Zaraz / tag management, GA4 + Meta CAPI tracking, To apply (please, no generic pitch): In 3–4 sentences tell us why you or your agency are best for this spot.
