I'm building a custom luxury e-commerce platform — a bespoke product configurator with customer measurement profiles, swatch/option selection, and a clean admin and order flow. The foundation is in place; I need a strong full-stack developer to help me ship features fast and reliably.
This is an AI-native shop. I design in a canvas tool (Pencil/Figma) and implement with Claude Code directly in the repo. You do need to be the kind of developer who drives an AI agent like an engineer — planning first, scoping work into reviewable chunks, reading every diff, and running types/tests before anything lands. If your habit is "tell the AI to build it and accept the output," this isn't the right fit.
The stack:
Next.js (App Router, TypeScript)
Supabase (Postgres, auth, migrations)
Cloud Run for deploys, Inngest for background jobs
Stripe for payments
What you'll do:
Implement product detail, configurator steps, swatch filtering, and customization flows as reusable components
Own schema and migrations as the product evolves — versioned, with safe rollbacks and clean dev/prod separation
Translate designs into faithful, production-quality UI
Verify AI-generated code for correctness and scale, not just "it renders"
You're a strong fit if you:
Architect before you build — you think in data models, module boundaries, and migrations, not screen-by-screen
Ship fast without breaking production, and can explain a scope/quality tradeoff out loud
Work autonomously: when you hit ambiguity, you propose options and make documented assumptions instead of waiting to be told
Communicate clearly in writing (async)
Engagement:
Starts with a small paid trial task (a single well-scoped feature) so we both get real signal before committing
If that goes well: ongoing hourly or fixed-milestone work, steady pipeline
I move fast and direct closely at first; I value developers who eventually teach me better workflows

Screening Questions (add in Upwork's screening field)
1. I give you a one-line feature: "Add a swatch filter to the product list." In 3–4 sentences, what do you do first — before writing any code? (I'm looking for how you think, not a perfect spec.)
2. Tell me about one time you used an AI coding tool (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Figma MCP, etc.) on real production code. What did you do to make sure the output was actually correct?
