I'm building Kixu, a new browser games platform competing with Poki and CrazyGames. The platform will aggregate browser games from multiple feeds, and will scale to millions of players.
I need a developer to own the entire platform - frontend and backend.
Suggested Stack:
Frontend:
- Next.js (App Router)
- Payload CMS
- Tailwind CSS
- Deployed on Vercel
Backend:
- Hono (Node.js) - custom API layer
- Redis - caching
- PostgreSQL
- Deployed on Railway
This is a full-platform ownership role. If you only work on the frontend, this is not the right fit.
What you'll work on:
- Platform performance and Core Web Vitals (especially on mobile/low-end Android)
- Game feed integrations (GameMonetize, GamePix APIs)
- Backend API development and caching optimization
- New platform features as we scale toward 1M pageviews/day
You must have:
- Production experience with both Next.js and Node.js backend work
- Hands-on experience with Redis caching strategies
- Comfort owning an existing codebase, not building greenfield
- Async-first communication - we're remote across time zones
Vibe-coding is fine as a tool. Shipping clean, maintainable code is the standard.
When applying, include:
- GitHub or live examples showing both frontend AND backend work
- Your experience with Hono or similar lightweight Node.js frameworks
- Your hourly rate
- Your timezone and availability
