Azure Python Developer

Description: Mining-industrial company is looking for a freelance engineer to temporarily cover the operation of an existing SAP-to-Azure data ingestion pipeline. The work is already designed and partially built — we need someone to run it, maintain it, and complete specific tasks, not redesign it. Responsibilities: Run and monitor extractions from SAP ECC using SAP GUI scripting on an Azure Windows Server 2022 VM (single serial SAP session; overnight and weekend jobs scheduled in advance). Maintain and adjust Python extraction scripts: exporting SAP transactions to CSV (sep=';', latin-1 encoding, Spanish number format), timing measurement, error handling. Upload files to Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (raw/silver containers) via Python scripts using storage-key authentication. Convert CSV to Parquet and run Python upsert logic for the Silver layer. Operate existing Azure Data Factory pipelines (linked services already configured). Document every change; validate results against SAP before reporting anything as complete. Required stack: Python (pandas, pyarrow, azure-storage-blob) SAP GUI scripting (VBScript / Python win32com) and familiarity with MM transactions (ME2N, ML84, custom Z reports) Azure: ADLS Gen2, Data Factory, Windows VMs Nice to have: Parquet, data validation processes, fluent Spanish (documentation and team communication are in Spanish)
