Summary We're looking for an experienced web development team to take ownership of an existing web ecosystem that has already completed its initial build phase. Our previous development team successfully completed Phase One, and we're now seeking a reliable long-term partner to provide maintenance, ongoing development, and strategic improvements across multiple websites and web applications. Important: We are looking for a long-term development partner—not someone interested in rebuilding our existing websites from scratch. Our goal is to build an ongoing relationship with a team that can maintain, improve, and expand our current ecosystem while providing thoughtful recommendations as our business grows. This is not a "build from scratch" project. Instead, we're looking for a team that can quickly understand our existing architecture, become familiar with our systems, and serve as our technical development partner for years to come. About the Role Our technology stack and overall direction have already been established. We need a team that can step into an existing environment, understand how everything works, and confidently maintain and expand it. Our current ecosystem includes multiple WordPress environments utilizing both Elementor and WPBakery Page Builder. The successful team should be comfortable working within existing implementations of both platforms. While we're always open to thoughtful recommendations for future improvements, our immediate objective is to maintain, improve, and expand our existing websites rather than rebuild them. Initially, you'll review our current ecosystem, make improvements to existing functionality, complete unfinished enhancements, and help us prioritize future development. Over time, we expect this relationship to grow into an ongoing partnership supporting multiple websites and internal systems. We're looking for a team that communicates well, documents their work, thinks proactively, and can recommend improvements—not just execute tasks. Key Responsibilities *Learn and become familiar with our existing web ecosystem. *Review the existing codebase and architecture. *Complete enhancements and improvements to current websites. *Develop new features and functionality as requested. *Maintain and enhance existing WordPress sites built with both Elementor and WPBakery Page Builder. *Troubleshoot and resolve bugs. *Perform routine maintenance, software updates, and compatibility testing. *Monitor WordPress core, plugins, themes, and third-party integrations. *Improve website speed, security, and overall performance. *Assist with future website builds using our established standards. *Collaborate with our internal team and graphic designers when needed. *Recommend improvements where appropriate while respecting the existing architecture and avoiding unnecessary rebuilds. *Document work performed and communicate project status clearly. Required Skills *Strong WordPress development experience. *Proficiency with both Elementor and WPBakery Page Builder. *Strong understanding of front-end and back-end development principles. *PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and MySQL experience. *Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations. *Ability to work within existing codebases while offering practical recommendations. *Experience integrating graphic assets into responsive, functional web pages. *Experience maintaining production WordPress websites, including: - Plugin updates - Security updates - Performance optimization - Compatibility testing - Solid testing, debugging, and troubleshooting skills. Desired Qualifications *Experience inheriting and maintaining websites built by other developers or agencies. *Experience supporting multiple websites under one organization. *Experience collaborating with graphic designers to accurately implement designs. *Graphic design skills are a plus but not required. *Experience optimizing website performance and security. *Experience developing scalable systems and reusable development practices. *Clear communication and documentation abilities. *Reliability and accountability for deadlines. Terms *Initial project focused on reviewing and improving an existing ecosystem. *Long-term relationship preferred. *Work will be assigned on an as-needed basis. *Flexible hours with reliable communication expected. *Fully remote. Budget We're open to hourly or fixed-price proposals for the initial review and onboarding process. Long-term maintenance and development work will be structured separately based on the relationship, responsiveness, and workload. We're looking for value, reliability, and a team interested in building a lasting partnership—not simply the lowest hourly rate. What We're Looking For We value long-term relationships built on trust, communication, and continuous improvement. We appreciate development teams that think proactively, communicate clearly, document their work, and aren't afraid to recommend better solutions when appropriate. Our goal is to build a relationship with a team that becomes an extension of our business—not simply another contractor. Our current ecosystem consists of approximately 4–6 WordPress websites utilizing a combination of Elementor and WPBakery Page Builder, with additional projects already planned. We're looking for a development partner that can grow alongside us as our needs evolve. If you're looking for a client who values quality work, collaboration, and long-term partnerships, we'd love to hear from you.
