Developer Needed for Daily FMCSA DOT Lead Automation System

Short Description: We need a developer to build an automated system that pulls all newly created USDOT numbers in the U.S. every day from FMCSA/DOT Open Data, formats them into a clean lead list, and delivers it to us automatically. Full Job Description: We are rebuilding a system we previously used to pull all newly registered USDOT numbers in the United States daily. This data comes from the FMCSA Company Census File (DOT Open Data / data.transportation.gov). Your job is to build an automated script/system that: 1. Pulls new DOT records daily using the Socrata (SODA) API 2. Filters records based on our required criteria 3. Cleans and formats the data into an organized lead list 4. Automatically exports or delivers the data daily We are looking for someone experienced with: - APIs - Data automation - Python or similar scripting languages - FMCSA/DOT datasets (preferred) - Lead data processing - CSV/Excel exports - Automation workflows This is a backend automation/data engineering role — not a design or marketing position. Please include: - Relevant automation/API experience - Similar systems or scraping projects completed - Tech stack you would use - Estimated timeline - Any experience working with FMCSA or government datasets Looking for someone reliable who can build a stable long-term solution.
