# About the Project Hands On Science is an education services business delivering science enrichment incursions to Victorian primary schools. We've designed a new website in Lovable and need a WordPress developer to build it from the ground up. This is a well-scoped, design-led build with clear requirements and a detailed specification. If you've built custom WordPress sites with dynamic content management, this is a solid fit. # What We Need A fully functional WordPress website that: - Replicates a multi-page design prototype (homepage, programs directory, individual program pages, FAQ, blog/resources, footer) - Manages programs as backend content (title, year level, price, curriculum outcomes, images, etc.) — not hardcoded - Implements a sequential booking enquiry form with dynamic validation: - Program selection dropdown - Student count → automatic calculation of sessions required - Flatpickr date picker with constraints: exactly X dates, all within a 7-day window - Real-time validation messages and visual feedback - Webhook submission to n8n (URL configurable in admin) - Supports testimonials, FAQs, and blog posts as editable content - Responsive design across mobile, tablet, desktop (matching the Lovable prototype) - Navbar with scroll-triggered transparency-to-solid transition - Filterable program grid (by year level) - Testimonial and program carousels # Technical Requirements - WordPress (latest stable version) - PHP 8.1+ with SSL/HTTPS - Yoast SEO for on-page optimisation and schema markup - Flatpickr for the date picker - Custom post types for programs, testimonials, FAQs (using ACF or equivalent field management) - Admin settings page for: - n8n webhook URL (editable) - Available dates (CSV upload or URL-based fetch) - School logos (image gallery) - Performance targets: Lighthouse 90+, page load less than 3 seconds - Accessibility: WCAG AA, keyboard-navigable form, semantic HTML Theme and page builder choice are yours. # What We Provide - Design reference: Full Lovable prototype (https://hos-draft.lovable.app/) with all pages visible - Detailed specification (attached): Complete technical brief, form logic, content structure, acceptance criteria - Content/data: Program details, testimonials, FAQs, blog copy (sourced from the Lovable prototype and verified by us) - Available dates: CSV list of valid booking dates - n8n webhook URL: Provided before build starts - Domain & hosting: Contractor to recommend # Key Complexity: The Booking Form The enquiry form is the centrepiece. It's sequential, calculated, and validated: 1. User selects program and number of sessions 2. Date picker fades in, only showing dates from a CSV list 3. User must select exactly X dates, all within 7 days of the first chosen date 4. Inline validation guides the user if they breach constraints 5. On submit: POST to n8n webhook with form data + timestamp This requires careful JavaScript logic, but it's not complex—just specific. # Experience Required - 3+ years building WordPress sites (custom post types, ACF or equivalent) - Previous experience with modal forms and client-side validation - Comfortable with REST API integration (webhook submission) - Proven ability to match design mockups across responsive breakpoints - Can write clean, maintainable code and document it for the client - Portfolio or case studies showing similar WordPress builds # Timeline & Deliverables 2 weeks to completion.
