Data Engineer for Commercial Insurance Rate Extraction (MRF JSONs)

Budget: - HOURLY / PART_TIME ⭐ 5.00 (2) United States

python, sql, snowflake, json, aws-application, database

Job Description: We need a data analyst or engineer to extract localized, in-network commercial insurance reimbursement rates (allowable amounts) for about 15 specific CPT codes in Southern California (Los Angeles County). DO NOT apply if you are only going to pull the public Medicare Fee Schedule (PFS) or Medi-Cal rates. We already have that data. We specifically need negotiated commercial payer rates in this area. What we need: You must extract the negotiated rates for major commercial payers in Southern California (specifically Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of CA, Aetna, BCBS of California) for our top 15 CPT codes. Technical Requirements & Sources: -You must extract this data from the federally mandated Transparency in Coverage Machine-Readable Files (MRFs). -The data must come from the In-Network Provider-Allowable Rate JSON files (Professional/Physician files, NOT just facility/hospital files). -Because these raw JSON files are hundreds of gigabytes/terabytes, you must already have the local server infrastructure, AWS/Snowflake setups, or database scripts (e.g., Python, DuckDB, SQL) capable of parsing and filtering these massive datasets down to our specific region and codes. Deliverable: A single, clean, human-readable Excel or CSV spreadsheet containing: 1. Payer Name (e.g., Anthem BC) 2. CPT Code (~15 total rows) 3. Provider Type / Network Type (Professional/Physician) 3. Negotiated Allowed Amount ($) for Zip Code 91364 / LA County Locality To Apply: Please begin your proposal with the word "PARSER" so I know you read this entire description. In your proposal, briefly explain what tools or database environment you use to handle and query multi-gigabyte/terabyte insurance JSON MRF files.
