Our client is a venture-backed life sciences company working at the intersection of genomics, AI, and advanced diagnostics. The company develops software products and data platforms that help healthcare professionals make faster and more informed decisions in complex clinical environments. Responsibilities -Design and document software subsystems, APIs, services, and application components. -Build and maintain production-grade TypeScript and Node.js services. -Work with microservices-based architecture, including service boundaries, API contracts, error handling, observability, and system reliability. -Develop and maintain event-driven systems using Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms. -Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, indexes, transactions, and database migration strategies. -Build, test, and operate distributed cloud-based systems using AWS or similar cloud platforms. -Own software components end-to-end, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and support. -Lead or contribute to unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Requirements -5+ years of overall software engineering experience, -3+ years with Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS. -2+ years of hands-on testing experience with Jest and Playwright/Cypress/Selenium. -Production experience with Kafka / Confluent or a comparable event-streaming platform.
